Even so, Andres recognized who the man was.
Hans pointed at the screen. "This video's gone viral. Everyone's trying to find the 'angel' who saved him."
"The guy she saved is the fourth son of the Thornton family. Congenital heart condition. He had an episode last night and nearly died."
Hans's voice climbed with excitement. "Even the ER doctor said it, he didn't live because he got lucky. He lived because those needles went exactly where they needed to go."
Hans leaned in. "Mr. White, don't you think... the girl in the video looks a lot like Miss Vance?"
Andres kept his face neutral, pushing down his surprise. "What are you getting at?"
"Mr. White hired Miss Morales for her unmatched hacking skills, so we could track down the Shadow Healer to treat your wife."
"But the Shadow Healer is a ghost. No one knows who he is, and unless you're in that world, you don't even know where to start looking."
Hans's eyes sharpened. "If Miss Vance knows this kind of medicine, she might have heard of him. We could use her to feel it out."
Before Andres could answer, a maid's voice came from outside the door.
"Mr. White, Miss Morales is here."
This was Anya's first time at the White family home.
Azure Bay was the kind of neighborhood money alone couldn't buy your way into. Even with the Morales family's status in Aethelburg, they didn't have the standing to live here.
Sitting in the living room, waiting, Anya's stomach twisted tighter by the minute.
Too much had happened last night.
Her brother had missed the best window for a kidney transplant. His condition had worsened, and he'd been moved into intensive care.
Several doctors had been taken in by the police.
Her parents sensed something was wrong, and they'd sent her here to test the waters, see what Andres knew, and what he intended.
Nearly twenty minutes passed before Andres and Hans came out.
Anya sprang up. "Mr. White."
