While Quinn was pleading his case over the phone, Andres gestured to Maeve that he was heading to the restroom.
Unsurprisingly, he ran into Barton there.
Finally getting a moment alone, Barton aggressively confronted him.
"Mr. White, you've been pulling all these strings from the shadows. Have you ever considered leaving yourself a way out?"
Andres was washing his hands at the sink. Hearing Barton's accusation, he raised an eyebrow in feigned confusion.
"When you say pulling strings, Mr. Grover, are you referring to the ten-billion-dollar project your family lost, or the mistress you're hiding who just lost her job?"
Both incidents made Barton hate him to his core.
"Let me give you a warning. When you push someone into a corner, the backlash will be endless. Do you really think you can poke the bear and walk away without a scratch?"
Andres casually shook the water from his hands.
"Wasn't poking the bear exactly what your family did first?"
"The Grovers raised a lovely daughter, and you raised a wonderful sister."
"Remember this, Mr. Grover. Every ounce of humiliation your family is suffering right now was brought upon you by Nancy."
As he walked past Barton, Andres paused, lowering his voice so only the two of them could hear.
"The White family's rule is that we never start trouble, but we never run from it either. If you want someone to blame, blame Nancy. Everything she did crossed my bottom line."
"Instead of wasting your breath confronting me, you should go ask your precious sister why she couldn't just live her privileged life and had to come provoke me instead."
"Stealing that project was only the first move. The real game between our families has just begun."
Barton was thoroughly enraged.
