A happy grin spread across Holden's face as he gently patted her hand, "So, you're willing to have Ian's baby?"

Maja nodded, a slight smile forming at the corners of her mouth, her eyes full of sincerity, "Yes, I am."

Holden's smile deepened.

"As long as you're willing, that's all that matters. Don't worry, whether it's a boy or a girl, I'll love them just the same."

Maja didn't dwell on the topic, not wanting to get the old man's hopes up too high. If things didn't pan out, it could be a hard blow for his health. So she changed the subject and chatted with the old man for an hour before leaving the mansion.

As she was about to get in her car, she bumped into Connie.

Connie was wearing large sunglasses and clearly did not anticipate running into her here. She appeared somewhat surprised.

"Penny, what brings you here?"

Connie hadn't seen Maja come out of the mansion, and just saw her getting in her car here. Maja quickly came up with an excuse.

"I haven't painted in a while, so I came here to find some inspiration."

Connie chuckled, naively accepting the excuse, and started chattering away like a little sparrow.

"Did you hear, Mia Haskins got released from the police station. I heard her brother, Fitch, personally went to get her. Talk about awkward. Fitch is known for his bad temper. If you ever run into him, steer clear. Or you could call my brother to help you out, but whatever you do, don't pick a fight with him."

If even Connie was saying this, it looked like Fitch was a tough nut to crack.

"Thanks for the heads up."

Connie got off the car, pointing towards the mansion in the distance.

"I'm off to visit my grandpa, so I'll catch you later."

Maja nodded, waiting for her to leave before letting out a sigh of relief. She had a hunch her true identity might be exposed soon. Once grandpa returned, he'd surely invite her to a meal with the Raymond family, and she couldn't avoid meeting the rest of the family then.

Just as she was about to get in her car, Connie came back.

"Oh, Penny, it's my birthday party the day after tomorrow, right here in this mansion. It's going to be a blast. Grandpa said he wants to go all out this time, for a happy vibe. There will be lots of people, will you come?"

Maja had a bad feeling about this. Sure enough, her phone rang.

Upon seeing him, Holden's eyes widened, "I bet you timed this just right, Maja just left and here you are!"

Ian felt a little wronged; he had no idea that woman had been here.

"Grandpa, the doctor said you're refusing to take your medication?"

As he finished his sentence, Connie came out of the kitchen with a bowl of medication.

"Brother, grandpa was refusing, but after meeting your wife, he's willing to have some now."

In her hand, she held a dark-colored medicinal concoction. Over the years, Holden had been taking meds, and there was no room for any delays.

Ian heaved a sigh of relief; it seemed that woman did come in handy. But Holden's next words made his face darken instantly.

"Ian, Maja said she's willing to have your child, which puts me at ease. I thought she didn't like you, and wouldn't want to have your child. Now that she's willing, you should do your part and get Maja pregnant as soon as possible."

Ian's gaze turned icy. Of course, she wanted a child, that would completely entangle the Raymond family.

He had thought her not showing up last night was a sign of understanding, but behind his back, she was secretly discussing having his child with Holden, even saying she was willing to do so. How ironic.
