"No need."

His rejection was clear as day, "Spend more time with Grandpa Holden."

With that, Maja headed for the door without hesitation.

Ian quickly grabbed his suit jacket and followed.

Maja didn't want to share a ride with him again, but it was only when she walked out the door that she realized she had arrived in his car. Now, her only way to get home was to ask the Raymond family's chauffeur to drive her or walk.

There were no cabs to hail in the area.

Footsteps behind her, Ian placed his jacket over her shoulders.

It was a chilly, drizzly spring day.

"Put this on. I'll take you home."

He was firm.

Maja didn't say anything else and got into the passenger seat.

Ian drove himself, but no sooner had they set off than his phone rang.

Because he was driving, he didn't check the caller ID and answered on speakerphone.

"What's up?"

A familiar voice came from the other end.

"Ian, why aren't you answering my calls? I miss you, don't you miss me?"

The caller wasn't a first-time caller. Ian hung up immediately and stole a glance at Maja.

Maja was still staring out the window, unbothered by the call.

He explained quickly, "Must have been a prank call. I don't know who that was."

Her face remained expressionless, and after a while, she just said, "Oh."

Ian gripped the steering wheel tightly, eventually stopping the car in a secluded spot with no other vehicles around.

Maja immediately became alert, hearing the sound of car doors being locked.

"What are you up to?"

Ian adjusted his seat backwards, making more room.

Ian also felt humiliated, especially begging to a woman, which made him feel a bit suffocated.

"No matter what I do, you'll never like me, right?"

She didn't respond.

He stepped on the gas decisively, safely taking her to the hospital.

Even after parking, he got out and opened the door for her.

Just as Maja stepped onto the ground, she heard him ask again, "Is it true that no matter what I do, you'll never like me?"

"Yes! No matter how often you ask, my answer will always be the same!"

Ian stood there, tightly gripping the car door.

After a while, he asked, "Then who do you like?"

Maja didn't want to answer and was about to walk into the hospital.

He pulled her back against the wall, "I asked you, who do you like?!"
