Seeing the two guys he'd singled out not budging, he pointed out another two from the crowd.

"You two, go over there together, separate Ian and her. I want to see who she is!"

Beck immediately positioned himself behind Maja, her face buried in Ian's chest, utterly lost and flustered.

Her mind was a mess; she had no idea how to react.

Everyone present was speechless, watching the two men who'd just been fighting over a girl, now protectively shielding her together.

This was beyond belief.

Holden was starting to get restless, his curiosity piqued.

"Get moving, you guys!"

The four men didn't hesitate anymore, some pulling at Beck, some at Ian.

Amid the struggle, Maja regained her composure and realized what was happening.

She lifted her head from Ian's chest, attempting to turn around slowly.

But Ian held onto her waist tightly, "Showing your face now would cause a world of trouble."

His grandpa wouldn't let her off the hook.

But Maja suddenly said, "Stop pulling."

The four men halted at once, for her voice was calm, like a breath of fresh air in the chaotic atmosphere.

Maja looked up at Ian, thought momentarily, then said, "I'm sorry."

Ian was puzzled, wanting to keep hiding her.

But she removed the suit jacket from her head, then turned around and gave Beck, who was shielding her, a pat.

Beck didn't say much and stepped aside.

Holden was initially seated, holding a cup of coffee. When he saw Maja, he almost thought he was seeing things.

Maja knew that today's incident had blown up big time, so she knelt without hesitation.

"Grandpa Holden, I'm sorry."

Holden's mouth gaped open, his eyes filled with shock. The cup in his hand dropped to the floor, making a loud noise.

His chest heaved heavily, lost for words.

Apart from Maja, his grandpa had never used the name "Maja" for any other woman. He'd heard this name countless times but never thought Penny was Maja.

He was desperate for an answer.

Maja quietly knelt on the ground, feeling Ian's gaze on her.

Those eyes looked cold, like a hawk, aloof yet majestic in the night.

She lowered her lashes, then said to Holden.

"I caused all these problems, Grandpa Holden, I'm really sorry."

How could Holden let her kneel like this? He immediately stood up and walked to her side.

"The floor's so cold. How could you kneel like this, even though I don't know what's happened yet, you can tell me slowly, come on, sit down and talk."

But Maja dared not sit down.

Ian watched her, a hint of a smirk tugging at his lips, his gaze making her shiver.

She swallowed hard, quickly lowering her head.
