She felt him about to jam that pigeon egg-shaped ring onto her finger, and her hands instinctively clenched into fists.

Ian scowled and immediately forgot to be gentle. He tried to pry her finger open and forced the ring on.

Maja jerked her hand away. The ring flew through the air and landed somewhere unknown.

She didn’t say a word. Neither did Ian.

Three minutes was passed before she slightly hunched her shoulders.

“Mr. Raymond, you might be a bit tipsy.”

Ian's eyes were red. He grabbed her chin and kissed her without hesitation.

Maja pushed him away without hesitation and even slapped him.

He sobered up instantly and heard her say, "I have no interest in being anyone's side chick."

He rubbed his cheek, unsure how many times she'd slapped him.

Feeling wronged and angry, he asked, "Are you a glutton for punishment? Do you really want to live a hand-to-mouth life with that kind of man?"

Maja, still holding her clothes, felt like she couldn't communicate with him.

Ian had always had his way since childhood, growing up unbridled and unrestricted, doing whatever he pleased. No one could rein him in.

Thinking about it, his parents, Selena Casson and Steve Raymond, had no love for each other. He didn't learn what love was from them.

His grandparents were also indifferent to each other.

Ian even had an older brother who was everyone's favourite. His family preferred his brother, so he was always overlooked.

The Raymond family was indeed wealthy and powerful, able to support him in all his crazy endeavors.

When he couldn't sense any love from his family, he might as well join the military, where he could unleash his ferocity and madness.

Before Ian became the heir, people said he was a ruthless wolf.

After Eric died, he was forced to put on a facade of sophistication while dealing with people in the business world.

But his nature never changed. He was still the same wolf who knew nothing about emotions.

“Mr. Raymond, who I choose to be with is my business.”

She opened the door nearby, still feeling the pain from being tortured by him in the past few days.

She must have been crazy to have liked him.

Freedom was so close. It was great.

She was jumping for joy inside.

From behind, Ian held her, "Penny."

His chin rested on her shoulder, his voice softer.

"I didn't mean to make you my side chick. How about I be yours?"

Her scent was still on the pillow. It sobered him up like a cigarette.

Why did he feel that Tyler's suggestion was useless?

He frowned, hugged a pillow, and fell asleep.

At this moment, Maja was wearing her clothes, not daring to stay in RosenGarden.

She returned to Rosewood Manor in the middle of the night, too scared to stay there because of Ian.

If Ian knew she was avoiding him like the plague, he might get angry again.

Maja returned to Rosewood Manor, not daring to recall what he had just said.

She took it as a joke.

Ian couldn't even learn to respect. How could he know what it means to like someone?

He said it himself. It's just because he felt good, that's all.

He dared to say he liked her.

Angry, Maja went back to her room in Rosewood Manor. She took out that cherished letter, still with tear stains on it.

This was true affection.

Ian's so-called liking didn't count for anything.
