By then, Maja had arrived in the private room. After knocking, she stepped in to find a row of middle-aged men, each with a woman on their arm.

Middle-aged men, once they become addicted to booze and babes, give off a greasy vibe, and it was not a pretty sight.

Maja frowned slightly, then spotted Carlos in the middle.

This was the guy she was here to see tonight.

Carlos had achieved some fame with his last TV show, and now there were a lot of people looking to invest in him. He had planned on turning Maja down, but when he saw the gorgeous woman who had just walked in, his eyes instantly lit up. The woman in his arms suddenly seemed to lose her shine.

"Carlos."

At Maja's call, Carlos stood up immediately.

"You must be Ms. Penny; take a seat. I knew you must be a stunner just from your voice on the phone!"

All eyes in the room turned toward her.

Every industry had its cliques. The people in the room now were all Carlos' buddies, all small-time directors.

Maja caught the smell of cheap booze and perfume in the air and felt a little uncomfortable.

Carlos gently pushed the woman beside him away and eagerly gestured for Maja to come over.

She kept a cool face, smiling at Carlos.

"Carlos, I want to invest in your next movie; you know why I'm here."

"Ms. Penny, let's have a drink first, then we can talk business, okay?"

The other directors chimed in.

"Yeah, we can't talk business before having a drink."

Maja had popped a few hangover pills before coming, so she lifted her glass and said, "Carlos, a toast to you."

Seeing Maja raise her glass, Carlos' face brightened. He clinked glasses with her, but as he put his glass down, his chubby hand landed on Maja's thigh, rubbing it.

"I didn’t expect Ms. Penny to be so young."

Maja's eyelashes fluttered, but she kept her polite smile.

Carlos took her silence for consent, and the others in the room perked up.

Carlos pointed to his own thigh.

"Ms. Penny, let's cut to the chase. I won't do anything to you tonight. You sit on our laps, let us each kiss you for ten minutes, and you can invest in our next movie."

At this point, Maja was being choked by Carlos. She heard him yell, "All of you get out; I'll deal with her first, then you guys can have a turn. I've seen plenty of women like her; they all think they're too good for this!"
