"I got it." Ian said with a poker face, "You can leave now."

The doctor was a bit puzzled, as it seemed that Ian really cared for that lady. Could it be that, as the CEO of the Raymond Group, he had no clue what liking someone meant?

But the doctor didn’t say more; he just left cautiously.

Ian sat there, not wanting to go anywhere. He thought that if he saw Tyler or Fitch at this moment, his pride would take a hit.

So he just sat there until 5 a.m., his body cold and his anger spent, before he finally returned to his room.

The room was dead quiet when he opened the door.

Ian thought Maja had left; after all, she could go directly to the underground parking lot by elevator.

But when he went to his bedroom to change his clothes, he saw a lump on the bed and instantly froze.

This was his room.

Even though he had left in a huff, Maja had comfortably spent the night here.

His anger, just spent, flared up again.

He walked straight up, intending to yank off her blanket.

She should have gone back to her own home to sleep.

But just before he could act, he saw her face peeking out. She had become thinner, her chin pointed.

He stopped his hand, stood up straight, opened the closet, and picked out his clothes for the day.

After changing, he didn’t look at Maja again; he just grabbed the documents on the coffee table and left.

Jeff, who came to pick him up, was taken aback when he saw the clear five-finger imprints on Ian’s cheek, wondering if Maja was still alive.

Ian was a man with a lot of pride; no one had ever dared treat him like this, let alone being slapped by a woman.

As Jeff gripped the steering wheel, he couldn’t resist asking.

"Mr. Raymond, is Miss Penny all right?"

The mention of Penny made Ian extremely uncomfortable.

The stifling feeling in his chest was unbearable.

"Not good; prepare an urn for her."

Jeff pursed his lips; honestly, that’s what he thought too.

Ian leaned back in his chair and closed his eyes.

"She’s sleeping in bed; have the hotel send up some food for her later; make sure it’s light."

Jeff glanced at the rearview mirror and couldn’t help but remind him.

"If you really like Miss Penny, you could try to find out more about her family."

Ian just chuckled.

"Which eye of yours saw that I liked her?"

Jeff was rebuked and immediately shut up.

"Tyler, you're not going to change the male lead of that TV show, right?"

Tyler was more than happy to see Ian tangled up with women, so he immediately promised, "No more changes; even if Ian asks me to change it again, I won't."

Maja breathed a sigh of relief and sincerely said to Tyler, "Thank you."

Tyler found it amusing, then hung up the phone.

Then he called Ian.

Ian was already at the Raymond Corporation, and Tyler's first words hit a nerve.

"Your Miss Penny is quite something; with a wave of her hand, she promoted her lover, Shawn, to the lead role."

Ian's face turned serious instantly; he really wished someone could shut Tyler up.

"Ian, I never thought you'd stoop so low just to improve your standing in Penny's heart."

Ian took a deep breath. "Don't you have anything better to do?"

Tyler immediately turned serious: "We have important matters to discuss; Phelps is coming back; we have a welcome dinner for him tonight; you must come."

Phelps of the Herrington family, currently the most outstanding surgeon in all of Greenfield, had been studying abroad.

He was, besides Tyler and Fitch, the best friend Ian had.

But Ian touched his face.

If he went tonight, he would be laughed at by these three for a whole year.
