The next day.

No sooner had Maja finished handling the Pennyfeather group's files than she got a call from Shawn.

Shawn asked her to meet up in a coffee shop, and not just any coffee shop - a fancy one.

Before she headed off to the cafe, Maja had urged the court to let her and Edith face off as soon as possible. If it was not possible, she wanted compensation, and pronto.

She was determined not to let that whole painting debacle slide.

Then she went to the coffee shop.

Shawn was dressed to the nines - clearly, he'd put some effort into his appearance.

As soon as he saw Maja, he stood up.

"Penny."

Maja nodded at him, but before she could get a word out; he said, "I'm game if it's you."

Shawn wasn't the macho type - he was more of a softie. His gentleness reminded Maja of someone from her past.

Memories flooded her mind, and she was momentarily lost in her thoughts.

Coincidentally, Shawn echoed a phrase used by that person from her past.

"I knew you were special the moment I laid eyes on you."

Maja was gripping her coffee cup when a hot cup of coffee was thrown directly into Shawn's face.

The coffee shop was reservation-only, so the place was devoid of commoners and paparazzi. Only the rich and celebrities could get in. Shawn had taken off his hat and mask after entering, and at that moment the rich coffee was slowly trickling down his cheeks.

Maja turned to look at the perpetrator, an older woman.

Next to the woman was a young man who looked like he had just come of age.

Maja realized in an instant that that was the rich woman Carol had spoken about, the CEO of Simstar Entertainment—Funfly Darcy.

Simstar Entertainment had been in the entertainment industry for over a decade and was a well-established company that had groomed many stars.

Even though Funfly prided herself on maintaining her looks, she was, after all, in her fifties and her obsession with handsome men had left her somewhat frail. She was also quite plump with a triple chin. Upon seeing Maja, she raised her hand as if she wanted to slap her.

"You dare to touch my man?!"

Funfly didn't recognize Maja and assumed she wasn't anyone important.

Maja swiftly grabbed Funfly's wrist, pushed her back and Funfly staggered back a few steps, panting heavily.

But the four bodyguards Funfly had brought along just sneered at Shawn and Maja.

Funfly was taken aback but then saw Ian pull Maja over, checking her thoroughly to make sure she was okay before letting her go.

Maja looked upset and was trying to shake off Ian's hand.

Seeing this, Funfly quickly ran over with a big smile on her face.

"Mr. Raymond, who may this be?"

She discreetly signaled her bodyguards to back off.

Ian looked at Funfly calmly, "Ms. Darcy, you're causing quite a scene today."

Funfly looked embarrassed; her fat cheeks quivering slightly.

"Haha, I didn't realize you were acquainted with this young lady."

Ian looked at Maja, and then at Shawn across the table. His heart was in turmoil.

Although he was often harsh with Maja, it was always in private. Now, in public, he had to show her the respect she deserved.

Otherwise, Maja might not be able to handle Funfly's tactics in the future.

"She is my only designer."
