Ian paused, whispering softly in her ear.

"What can that useless husband of yours offer you?"

Maja lowered her head, upset by his derogatory remark about her husband.

Ian's hand slid to her waist.

"Penny, have you made up your mind?"

His words were like a trap, enticing and gentle, trying to lure her in.

Maja didn't respond, and he assumed her silence was a yes, so he lifted her up, kissing her while putting her on the clean table.

Maja was breathless from his kiss, and then she felt a tingling pain in her neck.

He was marking his territory.

Ian had a strong desire to dominate in this aspect.

But then, Nathan's voice came from outside the door.

"Penny, I saw you come back just now. Did you forget something?"

A plan flashed in Maja's mind, and she quickly pushed Ian away.

She got off the table and buttoned up her unbuttoned clothes, her fingers slightly trembling.

Ian's face turned gloomy, and then he laughed lightly.

There was a hint of mockery in his laugh.

Maja couldn't lift her head nor dared to look at him. After buttoning the last button, she wanted to leave.

But Ian pulled her back, slowly pinning her hair behind her ear.

"I'll give you time to think, but I'm a clean freak, don't let him touch you while you're considering."

Maja stiffened, her mind a mess. She remained silent.

After a few seconds, she finally asked, "Mr. Raymond, do you like me?"

Admitting his feelings at this point would mean complete defeat.

"Penny, you're married. I’m married too. This is just a game for adults, that's all."

Maja's face turned pale, and her eyelashes trembled violently.

At this moment, she felt utterly humiliated.

He got into his own car and drove to the BlueSky Bar.

Tyler Bennitt always had a lot of free time, but he noticed that Ian also seemed to have some these past few days, showing up to have a drink again. Ian’s lips were somewhat vibrant, brighter than his usual pale lips.

Ian didn’t respond; instead, he picked up a deck of cards and joined a game with the others in the bar.

“What’s he expressing? Mr. Raymond just got back with Ms. Shepard, right?”

Tyler smiled and didn’t answer. He leaned closer to Ian and whispered so only the two of them could hear.

“It looks like you’ve been sneaking around behind people’s backs.”

Ian pushed him away and said, "Buzz off."
