Maja hadn’t brought any clothes, and she was completely soaked, with no dry clothes to change into.

She was pissed and tried to swim to the shore, but Samuel grabbed her waist and pulled her back.

"Penny, do you really think Carlene and Dana would let you go if I didn't bring you here? They just said a whole bunch of nasty stuff about you."

But they were talking about Ian's wife.

Maja stiffened up, narrowing her eyes at him.

"Even so, you didn't have actually to toss me in the water."

Samuel clearly had reasons for throwing her into the water – he wanted to see her drenched.

And obviously, it worked pretty well.

Samuel moved closer to her, whispering in her ear.

"Plus, Carlene probably doesn't know that you're Ian's wife, right? But she's already planning to mess with you because you're Ian's designer. If you play up some ambiguity with me now, it'll make her suspicious, and she'll back off. How about that?"

His breath fanning her ear makes Maja feel a bit uncomfortable.

"And, look up at the balcony."

Maja frowned, looking up.

Ian's holding a cigarette, lazily watching the scene.

Tyler and Fitch were standing next to him, and they seemed to have been there for quite a while.

The swimming pool was right under their balcony, so Ian could see everything from when Maja was thrown into the water.

But he had no idea what they were talking about.

All he saw was them getting chummy.

Maja was so angry that her face turned red. Was all this Samuel's plan?

Samuel moved closer to her on purpose again.

"Ian is upstairs too; seeing us so cozy, he probably suspects something's up between us. If he has feelings for you, they might fade now, and Carlene won't pay attention to you anymore. Two birds with one stone."

"Penny, you don’t tell Ian about your identity; isn’t it because you want to leave easily in the future?"

"So, should I thank you?"

Samuel chuckled, twirling her hair around his fingers.

"If that's how you see it, no problem. You just need to date me for a while after your divorce."

He just wanted to have her.

Maja was so angry that she was speechless. But Carlene and the others were already in the pool. Their swimsuits were very cleverly designed, with very little fabric.

Compared to them, Maja, in her everyday clothes, looked totally out of place.

Carlene stared at Maja, smirking.

And Dana, right next to her, can't help but laugh.

She started coughing because of the alcohol.

Samuel immediately patted her back, but Maja pushed him away.

"Mr. Brown, Mia likes you. Even if you solve my problem tonight, it will only lead me to new ones. So stop. Ian and Carlene have already seen this, so there's no need for anything else.”

"Penny, are you ditching me?"

Maja didn’t respond to him and swam towards the shore.

But halfway there, she started to feel hot.

She frowned, got out of the pool, and checked her clothes.

They're all soaked, and she looked a mess.

She took out her phone, only to find it was not working anymore...

Since she came with Connie, she didn’t have any money for a taxi either, so she hurried back to the dessert section to find Connie.

Connie was also looking for her. She took her upstairs to change and scolded Samuel.

"He's too much. How could he just push you into the pool? If you're not feeling well, rest here for a bit. I'll bring you some delicious seafood later."

Connie was a kind girl. She only left after making sure Maja was okay.

However, Maja was feeling really uncomfortable now. She was burning up.
