Carol was always known for her straightforwardness. Maja hung her head, feeling devastated by the recent events. However, it was also confirmed that Neil, her father, was growing older and needed more business skills. Making the right decisions only became more challenging as he aged.

Noticing Maja's despondent expression, Carol decided to change the subject. "You mentioned something about getting paid on time earlier. What's that about? Have you been working for Ian?"

Maja nodded. "Yes, I've been assigned to design the Greenfield Gardens house."

Carol's eyes widened, and she gave Maja a thumbs up. "Maja, you're quite the daredevil! Helping your husband's ex design her future home? Or perhaps she's not just an ex but his second wife."

Maja laughed and confessed, "Let me tell you, Ian doesn't even know I'm his wife."

Carol looked utterly stunned. "So you've been intentionally hiding your identity just to see Ian squirm when he finds out who designed his house?"

Maja did not mention the events of that fateful night, as they would remain a secret between her and Ian, buried deep within their hearts.

Later, the doctor came in to remove Maja's IV, and Carol assisted her with the discharge paperwork. Once settled in the car, Carol couldn't resist asking, "So when do you think you'll get divorced? Honestly, if you manage to snag a guy like Ian, you should try to keep him. He's quite a catch."

Ian possessed top-tier business insight on Wall Street with a remarkable family background, and good looks, the latter being just a tiny part of his many attributes.

"Forget it, I have no plans with Ian," Maja replied, brushing off the suggestion.

Carol accelerated, shaking her head disapprovingly. "You're the only one who could resist! When Ian married you three years ago, so many ladies were heartbroken."

After some thought, she decided to text Ryan. However, a friend request notification popped up on her phone as she began composing the message. It was from Ian.

Maja's hand trembled with surprise. Ian reaching out to her felt almost too good to be true. Then she remembered that her contact information was displayed in the picture.

Without hesitation, Maja accepted the friend request and messaged Ian, expressing her gratitude for taking her to the hospital. She didn't expect a response and started browsing various artworks for inspiration.

Maja had two phone numbers—one for work, filled with clients, and another for personal use with friends and family. The number displayed in the picture was her work number, and the attached WhatsApp account was also for work purposes.

Just as Maja was about to get up, a text notification appeared on her personal phone. "Meet me at Raymond Mansion tomorrow morning. We need to talk."
