Maja was blissfully unaware of the events unfolding upstairs, still quietly waiting in the hallway until 11 in the morning. When she finally got up, her legs felt slightly numb.

After bidding the nurse goodbye, she left the hospital, driving back to the hotel with a tired body.

Just as she stepped out of the elevator from the top floor, the elevator next door opened, and out came Ian. Ian was dressed in a suit, casually adjusting his cufflinks. He was alone, without Jeff in sight.

Maja rubbed her tired eyes and said, "Mr. Raymond."

The elevator doors behind them closed simultaneously, slowly moving downward. The quiet environment on this floor made the descending sound of the elevator remarkably clear.

Ian was the first to head towards his room. As Maja was closer to this side, he had to walk past her. Maja caught a whiff of a faint feminine perfume on him.

Did he just come back from seeing Carlene? Carlene must be something else if she could keep Ian hung up on her for so long.

Maja also walked in that direction, and she had to pass by Ian's door. However, Ian didn't pay her any mind and she didn't feel like talking either.

Just as she was about to pass by, she heard him ask, "Are you tired?"

Maja's face was etched with fatigue, dark circles visible under her eyes.

"Yeah, something came up with my family."

Ian had already swiped his card to unlock the door. He heard the unlocking sound, but instead of going in, he turned to look at her.

"Is it something to do with your husband again?"

"No."

She was clearly very tired. After saying this, she couldn't help but yawn, her soft hand covering her mouth, tears welling up in the corners of her eyes.

Ian didn't say anything else. He entered his room and closed the door.

Maja stood outside, feeling a little helpless. Did he really detest this marriage so much? She had never taken advantage of her status as the wife of the president of the Raymond Group. She had always been sensible and well-behaved. However, knowing that Ian already had someone else in his heart, it was only natural for him to complain about her.

Maja headed to her room, not in the mood to think about anything else.

Inside his room, Ian took off his coat and tossed it aside. He remembered the tearful gleam in her eyes, the bitter smile on her face as she said, "Which woman hasn't compromised in her marriage?"

Ian really thought her husband was blind. Just as blind as Samuel.

But it had nothing to do with him. If she was willing to compromise, then let her be.

No one would stop her.
