Maja was all set to head to Crystalbrook Valley right after wrapping up negotiations with the suppliers. Out of the blue, she received calls from several collaborating companies. The tone of the conversation was full of hesitation.

"Ms. Pennyfeather, we're terribly sorry, but we've received sudden notice and we can't proceed with your order. You might wanna find another company."

"But..."

Maja wanted to ask what was going on, but the line went dead before she could get a word in.

In total, she received four calls, all cancelling their orders.

Maja sat there, frowning.

Samuel had been a thorn in her side, leading to her collaboration with Silver getting canned. Silver had been pestering her ever since, but she had no intention of meeting him. She just wanted the police to sort out the mess.

Samuel was no longer getting in her way and had handed Silverstone Enterprises over to her. Everything should've gone smoothly, especially considering her recent pleasant interactions with the suppliers. What on earth had gone wrong then?

Where did the hiccup occur?

Maja was clueless. Suddenly, the chat group in her studio started buzzing. Maxwell asked her if she had pissed off someone.

Maja replied – what do you mean?

Maxwell messaged her.

[Several designers in the studio have had their orders cancelled and they were told explicitly that it was because of you. They want you to leave the studio and give up on the Greenfield Gardens order.]

This was way worse than what Samuel had done. Now, the entire studio was being affected.

Maja wasn't exactly on good terms with her colleagues in the studio. Now, with their orders getting cancelled because of her, they were probably grumbling about her.

[Maja, I've fired Kim. Heard she got arrested by the police and has to cough up a hefty fine.]

Speaking of Kim, a name popped up in Maja's mind, Maureen.

If she had offended anyone recently, it had to be Maureen.

And Rita had spoken those words in front of Maureen.

In Maureen’s eyes, she must seem like a two-timing bitch trying to get close to Ian and Ryan because of their looks.

Maureen has always been strict with her son and has high hopes for Ian. Naturally, she wouldn't want these two men to be influenced by a designer.

Realizing this, Maja let out a bitter smile.

Even though she had Maureen's number, Maureen probably wasn't in the mood to listen to her explanation.

Even if she wanted to explain, she couldn't really clear the air about her situation with Ian.

Based on what she knew about Maureen, although she came from a wealthy family, she never used her status to bully people. After hearing Rita's words, she might have confirmed her suspicions with others before taking these measures.

Her drawing skills were impressive. She had depicted a lively scene using just black and white.

Ian always had a soft spot for art and often attended art exhibitions, so he could tell the artist was skilled just by looking at the painting.

He also recalled the night he ran into her at Crystalbrook Valley. She was painting under the lights, all by herself.

Maybe it was the alcohol, but his mind started wandering.

As the elevator doors opened, he saw Maja standing there.

Maja was holding a thermos. She had gone back to Rosewood Manor and found out that Ian wasn't going back that night. So, she made some soup and brought it over.

Even though Ian had told her before that she didn't need to bring him soup, she was here to ask for help, so she had to show sincerity.

"Mr. Raymond."

Maja called out obediently and stood straight.

As Ian approached her, she caught a whiff of alcohol on him.

It was similar to the Roman Conti he had in the private room that night, mixed with other strong liquor.

The moment Ian saw her, he no longer resisted her as before, and walked to the door silently. "What's up?"
