She had just stepped out of the hotel, ready to get in her car, when a call from Samuel came through.

"Penny, I texted you the contacts already. This renovation company is pretty solid. But they're rivals with Silver Carnes. If you decide to work with them, you might seriously piss off Silver Carnes."

"I've permanently cut off all ties with Mr. Carnes."

If someone else breaks the moral code first, she doesn't need to stick to principles.

Besides, Silver Carnes was still trying to stop others from working with her.

Samuel laughed on the other end of the line. He wanted to ask about her situation with Ian but didn't bring it up in the end.

Maja hung up and looked at the message on her phone.

Ian listened to the rude words from the man on the phone and furrowed his brows. He immediately called Jeff.

“Check the surveillance after Penny left the hotel.”

Upon receiving the orders, Jeff immediately set the entire hotel in motion.

The Raymond Group owned the hotel. They were efficient. In less than five minutes, they pulled up the full surveillance video of Maja leaving the hotel by car.

Ian rushed downstairs, with Jeff already having the car ready.

The red dot on the map wasn’t far. Clearly, the bad guy didn’t expect someone to come to Maja’s rescue so quickly.
