Camryn was more envied than Serenity because she was blind.
Callum was the eldest child to the second son of the York family and was also very outstanding in various aspects. Countless wealthy ladies had their eyes on him, hoping he would become their son-in-law. However, he was different from others and fell in love with Camryn, a blind woman.
Hayden’s parents believed that Kevin would eventually become someone else’s son-in-law, and would not be related to their family. Their attitude towards him remained unchanged on the surface, but they actually lost a bit of intimate affection toward him.
Kevin noticed this but he did not mind it.
The point was to disappoint them, and then bring them hope and surprise.
He could say that the Queens would never have thought that the bride chosen for him by his nana was Hayden.
“Kevin, which family’s heiress did your grandmother choose for you?”
Hayden’s mother asked curiously, “You said you came to Jensburg to escape the pressure of being forced into marriage by your elders. Is it because you don’t like the girl your grandmother chose for you?”
If that were the case, when the one-year deadline was up, there might still be some hope for her daughter.
“I haven’t gotten to know her yet, so I can’t say whether I like her or not. But it feels awkward so I can only hide from it.”
Hayden’s mother smiled and said, "Yeah, it’s definitely awkward to treat a stranger as your wife.”
“Both of you are way better. Mr. Hayden is only one year younger than me, but you haven’t pressured him to get married like my elders had.”
Kevin shifted the topic to Hayden.
If the heiresses in Wiltspoon were all excellent, then there was no way Hayden could compete with them. They would have been taken already, not to mention Kevin has a few brothers too.
Hayden’s father said, “Wiltspoon is a bit far from Jensburg, and Hay rarely goes there. Even if you introduce someone to her, it would be a long-distance relationship, which may not work out.”
They thought Kevin did not know that Hay was a woman. Hayden’s parents were worried that he might actually introduce a wealthy young lady from Wiltspoon to their daughter.
They quickly found an excuse that a long-distance relationship was too difficult to maintain and yield a fruitful result.
“We still want to find a suitable girl for Hay in Jensburg though. But thank you, Kevin,” Sophia chimed in after her husband.
Their attitude was clear, they didn’t like the idea of a “daughter-in-law” from another city.
