“Old Mrs. Johnson is more fortunate than me,” Grandma May said enviously.
Old Mrs. Johnson was old, yet she still had her husband by her side and many children and grandchildren. All of them were filial too.
Grandma May also had many children, but her husband passed away long ago. She was lonely, but the man who loved and understood her best was no longer there.
She would feel even lonelier if she did not make herself busy.
That was why she liked going out of her way to do things.
“Seren, didn’t you say you have something to take care of? You should go. I’ll pack up and head out later.”
Serenity hummed in agreement. She did have to handle the matter with Unit 188.
At the same time, she called her sister to inform her that she was taking Sonny on a trip before the summer break ended.
Liberty was with her son at the store she bought recently. When she received her sister’s call, she quickly agreed to her sister’s idea.
The summer break was almost ending, yet she had not taken her son out to play.
She still had no time.
Sonny listened to his mother’s conversation with Aunt Ser. After his mother hung up, he raised his head and asked, “Mom, where is Aunt Ser bringing me to play?”
“She didn’t mention it. She only said she would take you out and bring you back before the first day of September. Your school’s starting on the first.”
Zachary chuckled and said to himself, “She’s still jealous.”
He walked inside the house with the present when Sam was walking out of the house and met Zachary at the door.
“You’re back, Mr. Zachary.”
Sam was smiling, yet he dared not meet Zachary’s gaze.
Grandma May kidnapped Missus to go on a trip. They did not know where they went. Missus only left a note for Mr. Zachary.
“Is the missus asleep?” Zachary asked Sam as he walked.
