Cold Husband Burning Regret: The Divorce He Couldn't Handle novel Chapter 689

"Are you alright?"

Easter's face stiffened slightly at Charlotte's concern. She turned her head away, biting her lip. "Thank you... I'm fine..."

"I didn't mean anything by it," Jonathan said helplessly. "I'm not here to cause you trouble either. I just happened to run into Genevieve and realized you were here too."

Easter cautiously lifted her eyes to look at Jonathan. It was only from their first encounter at that banquet that she learned why Mr. Pembroke had made her put on makeup and get close to Mr. Howard.

Even though it wasn't voluntary, she had still "intruded" into their relationship.

So when she ran into Charlotte, she had no confidence.

She didn't have the courage to face her either.

Charlotte pulled a small notebook from her bag, wrote down an address and contact information on it, then tore out the page and handed it to her. "When you need to reach me, feel free to call anytime. Consider it making a friend."

Easter took the piece of paper, looked at the contact info and address on it, and was stunned for a few seconds. In the end, she merely nodded numbly and stepped into the elevator.

Charlotte returned to the restaurant. Hiram had just finished eating. He looked at his sister, who had returned to her seat and was about to pay the bill. "Sis, you didn't go looking for Genevieve, did you?"

"What would I want with her?" Charlotte called the waiter over to pay.

Hiram pursed his lips. After settling the bill, he had the waiter give him an invoice. Charlotte suddenly laughed. "I treat you to a meal, and you're expensing it to the company?"

"Your money didn't come from nowhere. Besides, I earn money for the company. Why shouldn't I get reimbursed for a meal?"

Charlotte just smiled without a word.

The two returned to Sterling Manor. As they pushed open the front gate, they saw Evander Howard and Foster Fontaine standing in the courtyard, talking.

His coat was soaked in the biting winter wind, the hem flapping in the breeze, and his hair was touched with a bit of cold.

Hearing the sound of the gate opening, Evander looked up, his gaze resting on Charlotte's face for a moment.

Foster looked at the two of them, then suddenly walked over to Hiram, throwing an arm around his neck. "Brother, you're out? Come on, let's go inside and have a good chat."

Hiram looked confused. "Hey... who's your brother? Hey! Why are you pushing me? My sister—"
