Cold Husband Burning Regret: The Divorce He Couldn't Handle novel Chapter 620

A moment later, Charlotte followed Evander out of the courtyard. She seemed to still be processing what had just happened with Mr. Rayburn, her mind elsewhere as she walked a little slower than usual. She had imagined all sorts of reactions from Mr. Rayburn when Evander revealed his identity, but… this was far too easy!

Evander stopped and looked back, waiting for her to catch up. He seemed to see right through her, a smile playing on his lips. “I told you he’d be able to accept it, even after knowing who I really am.” After all, it wasn’t the Rayburn family he had been hiding from.

“More like your ‘Evander’ name works wonders wherever you go, doesn’t it?” Charlotte said, crossing her arms in mock admiration.

He chuckled, his eyes meeting hers. “Except with you. It doesn’t seem to work on you.”

She froze for a second before turning her face away and walking past him. “I still think Jason Evander sounds better.”

Evander smiled to himself and casually fell into step beside her. “Then let’s name our son Jason.”

“What?” she asked, turning to look at him.

The man tilted his head, the amusement in his eyes deepening. “Our child’s name. It would be a good one.”

She froze, the tips of her ears turning a faint shade of pink, but she forced herself to keep walking. “Who—who’s having a baby!”

Evander caught up in a few strides, walking shoulder-to-shoulder with her. The late autumn wind carried his voice, making it sound both casual and certain. “I will, then.”

Charlotte didn’t answer, but she couldn’t suppress a laugh, her shoulders trembling slightly.

“What do you think, Dr. Sterling?” Evander asked, his eyes narrowing playfully.

Charlotte coughed twice and turned to face him. “You say that as if you could actually have a baby for me. I’ve been in a delivery room. I’ve never experienced the pain of childbirth myself, but I’ve seen it, and I can imagine it. So… I’m not mentally prepared.”

The corners of Evander’s mouth lifted slightly. “I’m not in a hurry, actually.”

“But you just asked!”

“You were the one who said you liked the name Jason. I can’t change my name, so I just gave you an idea.”

That man, was he teasing her again? Charlotte walked away in a huff.
