Seeing how fierce Angela was, the crowd quickly fell silent.
Angela turned to Natalie and said, "Don't pay any attention to those gossips."
"Thank you," Natalie said.
Before, Angela really disliked Natalie because of Terence. But now, seeing her so dejected and lost, she suddenly felt a pang of sympathy for some reason.
No wonder Terence and even Darren were so captivated by her. Looking at how haggard she was now, even she—a woman, her rival—felt a sense of pity and a desire to protect her.
Then Angela said, "I was just about to get something to eat. Why don't you join me?"
"No, thank you. I should be getting home."
Angela grabbed Natalie's arm. "Don't you know? Eating good food can make you feel better when you're down." Ignoring Natalie's protests, Angela pulled her straight into a restaurant.
She ordered a table full of desserts and drinks for her.
Angela said, "Eating cake when you're sad will make you feel better. That's what my cousin told me."
"Your cousin?"
"Yes, my cousin was a wonderful person. That's why Terence has always been so fond of her. Even now, he can't forget her." Her cousin was Rose Everhart.
Natalie laughed.
"So, you brought me here just to rub it in my face."
