Although he didn't know what they were here for, Terence invited them inside to sit down.
Elaine looked around the house as soon as she entered. Though it appeared a bit dilapidated from the outside, the interior was quite nice. Aside from being somewhat dated, it was tidy, clean, and had a warm, lived-in feel.
Most importantly, the person living here was genuine in his feelings for her daughter.
Sincerity could make life so much better. No wonder Natalie had said this was the best place to be.
She just hoped her daughter's life could be even better.
"Please, have some tea."
Terence prepared tea for Marcus Ward and his parents. They were Natalie's family, after all, and he had to treat them with courtesy.
Elaine studied Terence. He was a good man, really, but his legs were disabled.
Now that he had left the Lockwood Group, his life must be very difficult. He may have been powerful within the Lockwood Group, but now that he was out, who would hire a disabled man?
Elaine's brow furrowed slightly. "Mr. Lockwood, we came here specifically to see you today. You've already left the Lockwood Group, and I heard that Simon is officially taking over as president today. I think it will be nearly impossible for you to ever go back."
"I have no intention of going back to the Lockwood Group."
"If you don't plan on going back, what are your plans for the future? With your disability, what can you do?"
Elaine sighed. She had initially wondered if Terence had any fight left in him to reclaim his power, in which case the Ward family would help him. But it seemed he had no interest.
