Angela looked at Natalie and said, “Come on in. It’s time you got a reality check about your future. And that goes for you three kids, too. What's so fun about kindergarten lessons? Life lessons are what truly enrich a person.”
Angela's words piqued the two children's interest.
Although Natalie didn't know what Darren was planning, she felt there was no need to go in with him. She wanted to take the children and leave, but they were already hooked and wanted to go inside.
Natalie said, “I was too naive just now. I actually thought they sincerely wanted to apologize. It's clear that's not the case. Let's go.”
Hanley said, “Aren't you so tough, Lucas? Why are you chickening out and leaving now?”
Hanley had no idea what was inside, but seeing his father so full of confidence, he was sure it had to be something good.
Lucas retorted, “What’s the big deal? Fine. I’ll humor you and see what tricks you’re trying to pull. After all, you’d better remember that you brought us here because you wanted to apologize.”
Hanley said, “Then come inside with us!”
Unable to persuade the two, Natalie had no choice but to take them inside.
Upon entering, she found it was a large press conference.
Darren was sitting on the main stage.
“I’m honored to have everyone here today for the Cross Group's press conference.”
The reporters below began to whisper among themselves.
