Bride Behind the Mask novel Chapter 208

Marguerite agreed to return to the request of LuxeScents International.

Her creation, Polar Radiance perfume, was her pride and joy, which had been widely acclaimed in the previous market feedback.

This was not only a recognition of her abilities, but also a significant addition to her resume.

After all, she had plans to raise a family in the future and wanted to provide a better life for her grandmother. Love couldn't provide her with a sense of security, but her career could.

The next afternoon, Marguerite returned to the company to complete her re-employment procedures.

Now as a full-time employee and not an intern, and promoted to the project manager of Polar Radiance perfume, Chuck arranged a private office for Marguerite.

But her office supplies were still in the CEO's office. Marguerite grabbed an empty box and started packing up her stuff while Frederick was out.

Her laptop, files, the photo of her and her grandmother...

While packing, she suddenly noticed the divorce papers on the desk. Frederick hadn't signed them yet; he probably didn't have the time.

Soon, she had everything packed up.

As Marguerite was about to leave with her hefty box, Robert appeared less than half a meter behind her, which startled her.

"Mr. Fitzgerald?" Marguerite gasped, "Don't you make any noise when you walk? When did you come in?"

Robert smiled slightly, "Just now. Did I scare you?"

Marguerite nodded without speaking. Robert's gaze moved from Marguerite's box to the divorce papers on the desk. He paused, then cut to the chase.

"Marguerite, Frederick spent all morning looking at the divorce papers, but he hasn't signed them. He's clearly conflicted."

Marguerite frowned, "Mr. Fitzgerald, if you have something to say, just tell me."

Frederick had lost his sense of smell, but could only smell the perfume she created?

This was a strange twist, even more outrageous than a soap opera!

"Mr. Fitzgerald, this is a very unfunny joke."

"If you don't believe me, I can show you his medical records from his treatments all over the world. I accompanied him everywhere, consulting hundreds of doctors, but none could figure out the reason. However, your perfume seems to have cured him. So, Marguerite, would you consider staying a little longer? Frederick, he...he can't be without you."

Admittedly, when Robert revealed this, Marguerite's heart did waver for a moment.

Frederick, who had lost his sense of smell, could only smell her the perfume she designed. Wasn't that some kind of fate?

But they were not meant to be together. Frederick didn't love her. Even if there were feelings, they were pathetically few. They were destined to part ways.

Marguerite tightened her grip on the box, raised her head, and responded with a polite yet distant smile, "Mr. Fitzgerald, since Polar Radiance perfume seems to help with Frederick's condition, I will do my best to make this project successful. As for his loss of smell, rest assured, I will keep it confidential."
