"Olivia, do you even know who I am?" Selene asked incredulously, her voice sharp enough to cut the glass. "Do you think fifteen million is something I have never seen before?"

Clenching her fist, she spoke through the grit of her teeth. "If you have forgotten, let me remind you —I am the daughter of New York’s wealthiest family, the Martins. A few million is something I discard without a second thought."

Olivia’s patience finally cracked. She couldn’t take it anymore. "It wasn’t me —it’s you, Ms. Martin," she said, her voice firm. "You approved and signed the contract. I read every clause to you. I even highlighted this specific one. But in your desperation to come to Cralens, you didn’t care about the risk to your career. You staked it all yourself. So, it’s not me, but you ."

However, Selene didn’t listen. She waved a dismissive hand. "I don’t care about potential. My career is not a toy for anyone to play with. I won’t tolerate anyone playing with it. Go. Do anything, but make sure that no harm comes to my name."

Olivia stood back and watched her leave. Her patience was gone. Pulling her phone, she called a number. As the ring went through, she waited with her last bit of patience.

"Olivia, what’s wrong?" Eric, Selene’s manager, spoke from the other end of the line.

"I want to resign," Olivia answered. There was a determination in her tone that made the other person pause for a second.
