Breaking Free, Loving Again -The Flash Marriage with Mr. CEO novel Chapter 653

Chapter 653: His grandfather.

Arwen’s expression shifted as she heard her. His eyes grew serious as she stared into an empty distance.

She had asked Mia to look for a capable neurologist. She wasn’t sure about it, but this was the last resort she was able to think of.

She had lost her memories and had no clues to recover them. Given, it’s a medical situation, she thought a doctor could help her better. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚

"Help me book an appointment with him, then, Mia," she said, her voice carrying a determination.

"Ma’am, we can’t get one now?" the secretary said, and that made Arwen’s brows tug together in confusion.

"We can’t get one?"

And Mia hummed from the other end. "Yes, ma’am. The doctor isn’t currently in the state. He might come in a week or two. Only when he is here can we get his appointment."

"Okay then," Arwen said, giving it a thought. "Get an appointment when he returns, then."

"Yes, ma’am," Mia affirmed. "And ma’am, will you be coming to the office today?"

"I will be coming, Mia. But I won’t be staying there for long," Arwen informed casually. She had asked her to free up her schedule yesterday itself. "I have something else to do today. So, just keep the reports ready. Studying them, I would leave."

"And, I have forwarded you the mail," she added. "I have made the changes I felt were appropriate. But check it once with the team before forwarding it to the client."

"Noted, ma’am," Mia hummed lightly. "I will do it."

And with that, they disconnected the call.

Once it was done, she returned to the room. But finding it empty, her brows tugged in a frown. She looked around, but given that she couldn’t find Aiden there, she could only guess him to be gone downstairs already.

She checked the time, and finding it close to nine, she realized she was getting late. Quickly moving, she went to the dresser to get herself ready. Although she had dressed up and Aiden had dried her hair, there were still other things left to be done.

As she completed her minimal makeup and took the brush to brush her hair, a knock at the door halted her.

"Yes?" she asked as she turned to look.

Mr. Jones walked in, giving a small bow. "Madam, good morning."

"Good morning, Mr. Jones," she greeted back before asking, "What happened? If it’s about breakfast, I am almost done and will be there in a few minutes."

However, Mr. Jones shook his head. "Madam, I came to call you down. There is someone waiting for you."

Arwen paused, her brows knitting in confusion. "Someone waiting for me?"

He nodded. "The old master has arrived."

Old master.

"Aiden’s father?" she asked, the frown between her brows deepening.

But Mr. Jones shook his head almost immediately. "No, madam. That’s not him. It’s his grandfather."

His grandfather.

Mr. Jones’s smile dimmed a little, but anyway, he spoke honestly. "In the entire family, sir hasn’t been close to anyone. But old Master is still his grandfather. He respects him and has grown up under his care."

Arwen nodded in understanding. "So, he has treated him well?"

The butler nodded and smiled. "Yes, he did. The Old Master has always adored Sir since young. Though the way he shows it is not the typical way the grandparents do, you will understand their bond better when you see them around each other."

"Okay then, Mr. Jones. I will be downstairs in some time."

Mr. Jones nodded and then left.

Arwen turned back to the mirror. Doing her hair, she set the brush aside. And then giving herself one last look, she turned to walk out.

Walking down the corridor, she soon reached the staircase. However, she paused in the middle of the stairs when she saw Selene sitting in the living room.

She had almost forgotten her presence in the house. Only now, when she saw her sitting and smiling there, did she remember that recently, even she had existed there with them.

It didn’t surprise her to see her laughing so heartily there. Knowing the ties she shares with the family, it’s not surprising at all.

Shaking her head, she slowly descended down the stairs, feeling the silence getting settled in the air with a closing presence. Her gaze first met with Aiden, who rose from the seat to reach her midway.

She saw Selene grit at that, but like always, she ignored.

"I would have walked. You didn’t have to come here to take me," she said, putting her hand into his that he had spread out for her to take.

Aiden held her with a smile. "It’s fine," he said, his voice soft and reassuring. "It’s my duty."
