Breaking Free, Loving Again -The Flash Marriage with Mr. CEO novel Chapter 625

Chapter 625: How about you let me play my role while you play yours?

Arwen knew Aiden didn’t like what she did, but she didn’t stop to explain it to him there. She instead led him to their room.

Once they were inside, she closed the door after them and turned to face him ... finally.

He didn’t speak, but his eyes did. They look disappointed ... not at her, but at himself. Like he had done something to let himself down.

She took a step toward him, reaching forward to hold his hand and with another cup up his cheek. "You are upset?" she asked softly, but sombrely. Her intention was never to upset him.

Aiden didn’t answer her. Instead, he asked, "Why?"

She blinked, for an instance, not understanding what he was meaning to ask. "Why, what, husband? Is it about what I said back there in the dining room?"

"Why did you let her stay?" he asked, clearer this time. "You didn’t like her presence around."

Of course, she didn’t.

She has made it obvious from the very first second, and she never thought of denying it. Not even when she would be seen as petty.

But that doesn’t mean she doesn’t understand the things. She does, and that’s the reason she made that decision earlier, going against her own wishes.

Taking a deep breath, she said, "Because that was the right thing to do, husband. Letting her stay here was the right thing to do, especially when she reminded you of what you owe her."

Aiden’s brows knitted together. "That’s something I owe her, Moon. You aren’t bound to comply with her."

He had made that clear even before. If she had to comply with another’s requests, putting herself in a situation that’s not comfortable, then he would be failing as a husband.

"I am bound to it as well," Arwen replied. And when his gaze stared at her, she nodded to him, affirming, "I am bound to it because I am your wife. I am bound to every promise you have given to me or others. Every favour or kindness you owe others —I am bound to all ... willingly."

Aiden wanted to deny, but she shook her head at him. "You can’t deny me from it, Aiden. You can’t —the same way, I can’t deny you. This was never a one-way sharing. We share an equal relationship —where we both share each other’s happiness, glories, sorrows ... everything."

"So, if you deny me of one thing, I would have to reject the rest others as well. And I think ..." She paused before tipping on her toes a little to press a kiss over his lips, "you want me to put that distance between us."

Aiden watched her. Although she put it like that, he wasn’t convinced.

And Arwen read that clearly on his expression. Sighing, she tugged on his arm and led him to their bed. "Come on, it’s just a matter of a few weeks. She would be gone after that. Didn’t she say that already?"

Of course.
