A glimmer of determination flickered in Morgan's eyes.

"Don't act impulsively on your own. Our people are on their way to Olsen Residence!" Ryan shouted.

Morgan immediately ended the call.

The servants in front of him were all staring at him, filled with confusion. Morgan kicked the trash can next to him. "Why are you just standing there? Lead the way to the back of the mountain!"

His arrogance was excessive.

In the abandoned factory, Mark, who had experienced a rollercoaster of emotions, tightly held onto Josie's hand, refusing to let go.

They were covered in blood and flesh, worn down by the ropes, a sight that was shocking to behold.

For a long time, Mark couldn't calm his emotions. He had been witnessing his daughter's suffering all this time, the pain of their familial bond tugging at his heartstrings.

Josie flashed a mocking smile. "No matter how long you look, this wound won't heal."

Just like the pain she had endured over the years, it would leave permanent scars.

Mark had so many words he wanted to say, but he didn't know where to begin.

Mark closed his eyes, recalling the foolish words he had spoken not long ago. Suddenly, he reached out and slapped himself twice.

This action left Josie frozen in place. "What are you—"

"I'm sorry." Mark's apology was simply an outlet for his own anger. He didn't even dare to utter the word "father" because he knew he was unworthy. "Let's go."

However, before they could take two steps, Johnny, wielding his knife, approached them. He looked even more menacing than before. "Did I say you could leave?"

If things went wrong, they wouldn't be able to escape the consequences.

"Enough with the talk. Leave if you're scared. But I have to stay!" Johnny rebuked angrily, then he pointed his knife at Josie.

He forcefully pushed Mark to the ground. Josie heard the sound of bones breaking.

Mark struggled to get up.

"Rachel is in trouble, so you're not allowed to live well either."

Johnny steadily advanced, while Josie retreated step by step. However, due to his injuries, his steps were small.

She shook her head, her face pale. "Spare us. I promise we won't pursue this once we're out."

"Why should I trust you? Even if what you're saying is true, I don't want it!"
