"Anna?" He repeated the name in a flat tone, betraying no emotion.

"Do you remember her?"

"No."

He released his hold on Khloe and, seemingly uninterested in the news, picked up a glass from the table and took a sip.

Khloe glanced at him but didn't press further. Nick wasn't the kind to engage with unrelated people—forgetting her was normal.

"But I think she's genuinely a good person. She still cares about your condition. Even if it's an alternative remedy, it might be worth a try."

Khloe wanted nothing more than to cure Nick's illness.
