Begin Again novel Chapter 114

Liam heard her footsteps and expected to hear his office door bang shut. But he was surprised, tremendously relieved, when he felt her arms around his waist.

"Thank you," she said, resting her face on his back. "Thank you so much!"

Liam stood still, terrified to breathe, every part of his body aching for her. Being so close to her was torture, and he knew he should push her away, let her go. But when she tried to move away, he couldn't. He held her in place, covering her small hands with his large ones.

"Stay here until you stop crying," he said over his shoulder.

"I'm okay now. I need to get back to work." Eden tried to wiggle away, but he held on firmly.

"I'm not okay." He growled as he turned around and yanked her in his arms.

She licked her lips anxiously, her eyes wide with surprise. "Mr Anderson."

"I'm not okay when you keep crying," he whispered, searching her face.

"I—eh—" Whatever she was going to say remained a mystery as he brought their lips together in a fiery kiss.

Three days, Liam thought as he pulled her close, his hands in her hair, his tongue and lips demanding all of her.

Three days of not seeing her were enough to drive him to madness. He couldn't imagine a lifetime without her.

He scooped her up and placed her on the edge of his desk.

"God, Princess," he groaned in her neck, getting drunk on her soft, floral scent. He wanted it everywhere as he greedily took her lips again.

She tasted like mint and the honeyed tea she drank at some point before storming into his office. And at that moment, as his hands wandered all over her body, touching every inch of exposed skin he could find, he realised it was the best taste in the world.

"Liam," she sighed.

His name on her lips, like the gentle caress of a summer's rain, was enough to make him lose all reason; he kissed her harder, cupping her pert breasts in his hands, her nipples tautening at his touch.

"I could take you right now," he growled. "On this desk. I could have all of you."

"I may be everything, but I'm not a cheater!" Eden carried on, prattling her nonsense as she backed herself onto the door. If he wasn't so irritated with everything, he would have found the whole thing cute, adorable even.

"And I suppose that's what you think of me?" He asked when he finally stopped in front of her. "That I'm a cheater?"

"I never said that," Eden whispered. "But you can't afford to be caught in office gossip, and I need this job."

"Here's the thing, Princess," Liam smiled as he placed both his hands on the door, at her sides, caging her in. "I don't give a shit about what people think. I've made my intentions quite clear where you're concerned. When you stop caring about everyone as well, you'll come to me, and I'll be right here, waiting for you."

"I won't," she shook her head, her voice as heavy as her eyes were with desire.

"Oh, you will," he whispered before he lowered his head and kissed her hungrily, gathering her up in his arms again. "I told you I have all the time in the world. I'll wait. And don't you ever bring Laura up again. She's inconsequential in all of this."

"What does that even mean?"

"It means I broke things off with her as soon as you came back. I didn't want to waste her time the same way you're wasting the lawyer's."
