At last, Aurora let out a long sigh and sank onto the sofa, her shoulders slumped. “If we can’t get her back, we’ll have to find a new judge.”
She lifted her gaze toward Lucas. “Do you have anyone in mind?”
She knew, as Yvonne once pointed out, that Vanguard Group rarely invested in the entertainment industry.
Most of their projects were in real estate. She wasn’t sure if Lucas’ network even included anyone from film and television.
Lucas arched a brow slightly. “I can’t give you a full guarantee on that. I don’t know exactly what kind of person the director’s looking for.”
Aurora looked a little embarrassed. “But I already promised the director I’d help him. I really hope you can try to find someone.”
After a moment of hesitation, she added reluctantly, “If you can’t find anyone suitable, maybe you could try reaching out to Yvonne again. She’s still the most familiar with the show.”
Lucas nodded, his tone steady. “Alright. Don’t worry. If I contact her, I’ll do it in front of you.”
Aurora gave a small smile. “I trust you. You don’t have to do it in front of me.”
Satisfied with his answer, she stood up to freshen up. “I’m going to wash up. Just let me know if there’s any news.”
Before leaving, she looked back at him seriously. “Since I joined this production, I’ve already caused the director plenty of trouble. If there’s any way you can help, please do. He’s been really good to me.”
Aurora had always been someone who valued gratitude and reciprocity. She didn’t want to owe the director too much.
Besides, she genuinely enjoyed working on this project. The director had treated her kindly and given her opportunities that benefited her studio as well.
Now that her relationship with Lucas was public, everyone online knew their situation. If it were any other director, they would’ve already used her connection to pressure Lucas for help.
