Chapter 1415: Return

A flash of blinding light. The weightless feeling of teleportation.

Then Atticus opened his eyes to an unfamiliar room.

’Where is this?’

The walls and floors were pristine white. It felt as though he had appeared in an advanced training room.

Though he’d only been in Nerrot’s chambers twice, Atticus knew enough to know that this was far from it.

’Was I taken to another world...?’

He tensed, then almost immediately relaxed.

’This is Eldoralth.’

He could feel the connection to the world, one that granted him a sense of omniscience. He was god here.

’They must have moved the portal,’ he surmised.

That brought Atticus to the one question in his mind.

’Where the hell is everyone?’

He had sent Kancilot back before battling the sentinels. Though Atticus hadn’t communicated when he would return, he’d at least expected a small gathering when he did.

But it looked like they hadn’t been worried at all.

’There’s only... one person.’

With a brief scan, he discovered someone standing just outside the door.

As Atticus left the room, he found himself on a balcony high above the ground. Standing at the edge was Luminous Stellaris.

’What’s he looking at?’

As with the other human paragons, Luminous had become an Eldorian, and his current form reflected that.

Though he’d chosen to maintain his golden luster, the horn, folded wings, and powerful presence were evident enough.

"What are you doing?"

Luminous stiffened at the sudden voice. He turned, and his eyes almost popped the instant they landed on Atticus.

"Y-you’re back!"

"Obviously." Atticus frowned, a little thrown by the excitement in his tone.

’Maybe I was missed,’ he thought.

"You’re the only one here?"

"Yes..." Luminous reined in his shock, then broke into an eager smile.

"You’re finally back! Now I don’t have to be stuck here on this boring duty. I can join the others!"

’Maybe not,’ Atticus sighed inwardly. ’The one person they left doesn’t even want to be here. Should I go back? At least I’m wanted there.’

His mind replayed the moment of his kiss with Anorah before he quickly cleared his throat, brushing off the faint warmth rising to his cheeks.

"Where’s everyone?"

Luminous Stellaris had always been a dramatic man. Atticus knew that since the day the man attacked the Ravenstein Sector and Magnus had to put him down.

"At the main coliseum!" Luminous replied instantly.

Atticus frowned. "The main coliseum?"

Since when did Eldoralth have a main coliseum?

"Yes, yes!" Luminous looked impatient now. "Ozeorth and Whisker are about to fight! Everyone’s gathered there to watch."

’Of course.’ Atticus released a deep sigh. Ozeorth and Whisker, who else could it be?

"I lost a bet," Luminous continued with a groan, "and got stuck guarding the portal. But now that you’re here, there’s no need, right? I can leave?"

He looked at Atticus with hopeful eyes, but Atticus had already tuned him out.

’Let’s get to the bottom of this.’

He vanished, reappearing high in the sky. Drawing a deep breath, Atticus reached out to his Will, feeling it ignite and unfurl.

Then it spread outward, uncoiling across the world until all of Eldoralth lay bare before him.

He saw everything.

’Those fools.’

Atticus shook his head, then vanished again, reappearing above a massive coliseum roaring with millions of spectators.
