Atticus’ eyes fixed themselves on the gauntlet in front of him. It had been the weapon the Sentinel used to negate Solvath’s power.
’I’ll check you later. First... the other.’ He snapped out of his thoughts, turning towards the direction of the ongoing fight.
There were more enemies to kill.
...
Anorah twisted and spun in the air, regaining her spiraling momentum. Her inner light shone through her eyes, piercing the dark world.
’There.’
Her eyes locked on to the first Sentinel, hurtling through the terrain.
She glanced at the purple storm that had suddenly engulfed them and the horizon.
’He saved me.’
Anorah gritted her teeth. She had been moments away from death after falling for the Sentinel’s trap. In Asterra, there was only one person with such power beside her.
’Atticus Ravenstein.’
Anorah gripped her sword tightly. She hated it, the feeling of inadequacy. He had saved her life earlier; to think she would allow it to happen again.
’Logoth.’
The world turned silent. Her surging emotions vanished, replaced with an unyielding calm.
Fixing her emotionless eyes on the Sentinel, Anorah dipped, compressed, then shot forward like a missile.
The Sentinel’s eyes darkened.
’What was that?’
His companion had just told him to get ready to escape. Was it because of this storm? Or... 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
’Is he really that strong?’
He had seen the state the second Sentinel had been in before. Though he battled the god of Asterra, it appeared as though his companion had it worse.
But how could a lowly god push back a Sentinel? A legend. The child should be outmatched in both power and experience! But he knew better than to take his companion’s words for granted.
That boy was not to be taken lightly.
’I’ll kill her first.’
He fixed his eyes on the approaching saint.
With the light of the world gone, all he had to do was negate Solvath’s powers, and she would be helpless.
He reached for another round sphere in his arm, ready to burst it, when a brilliant light flared from above.
’What?’
He glanced up, and his eyes shot open.
A massive dragon roared down from the heavens, its purple storm tearing through the darkness.
’How can he attack me!?’
The Sentinel darted aside, barely evading the strike. The impact crashed into the ground, vaporizing an entire stretch of terrain, shockwaves rolling outward in tidal waves of dust and debris.
This wasn’t the Saint’s attack. It was the child’s!
’But how?’ How could he attack him? What of his companion?
His thought was cut short as countless slashes screamed toward him.
With a thought, the darkness surged to meet them, but his eyes widened in disbelief.
’They carved through it!?’
He threw himself to the side, narrowly avoiding the cleaving strikes.
’I can’t feel him...’
Had he truly died? Had the child actually killed him, a Sentinel? A legend!?
More slashes came. He didn’t bother to block this time. He evaded, eyes cold.
’I have to warn the Judicators.’
There was no time to kill the Saint again. He had to escape and deliver the warning. This child was dangerous, far beyond reason.
