It seemed like, in just a night, pandemonium had fallen on the mansion. Mutated goats, chickens and pigs were running amok in the open ground, with soldiers and guards running around to capture them.
Mother Bai was sitting on the couch sobbing lightly as she complained, "They knocked all the rice off the counter and there is so much chicken poop in the fallen rice, what am I going to cook?"
"It’s not your fault; no one would have expected that such a thing would happen. It’s our fault; we should have kept these mutated animals away from one another, but in our hurry to run, we just threw them together. Who would have thought that they would multiply in just a few hours? If we had known that the reproduction ability of these animals was also high, then we would have taken proper care of them."
Though Old Master Bai was trying his best to comfort Mother Bai, he too was helpless, as he knew that the pot of rice that was wasted was quite precious at this time. Thus, Mother Bai’s grief was not unreasonable.
"But that was an entire pot of rice!" Mother Bai cried with her hands covering her face.
"Catch them; don’t let them escape. How dare they cause trouble?" Bai Jixuan shouted angrily when he heard the cries of his mother. Clutching an axe in his hands, he charged after the chickens, goats and pigs. It didn’t matter if these mutated animals could be eaten or not; he was going to kill them all for making his mother cry.
Bai Meiyue looked at her second brother, who was chasing after the chickens with the axe, after letting out the battle cry, and didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. She turned to look at Lei Qian, who was crouching beside Lei Yan and looking at the rice that had been scattered on the floor and muttering among themselves. Though she didn’t hear a thing that they said, she could make out what they were talking about.
"I am not going to use my powers to separate rice from chicken poop!" Lei Yan exclaimed. She should have known that her brother had nothing good to say to her when he woke her up and asked her to come out with him. Every time her brother called her out, it was nothing good. Either he wanted to take her hunting, or he wanted to use her as bait or something.
And yet, like a fool, she would follow him out every time he called for her.
Now look at this: he even wanted to use her powers to separate chicken poop from rice.
"What do you mean? Are you looking down on this bit of rice? Don’t forget that we can cook porridge with it for more than three days. Are you going to hunt for rice if you don’t use your powers to separate the chicken poop from rice? If you are, then I have nothing to say. If you want to act like a fool, then you are free to do so," said Lei Qian.
