When the old woman saw the blank eyes of her son, her entire head started buzzing.

"Son...son..." She shook the man in her arms again and again. But the man never woke up, nor did he answer the old woman. Seeing this, the old woman was filled with regret. "Help! Help!" one of the survivors rushed downstairs and called for help from the soldiers. "There are worms eating humans! Those maggots are eating living humans!"

"I am speaking the truth," the man stammered as he pointed to the building. "There were so many maggots. From her mouth, eyes... they were pouring out of every single orifice of that old woman. You have to do something!"

"What’s going on?" Master Li walked over with Dacheng when he heard the sound of quarrelling. Dacheng also looked at the direction of the man who was causing trouble and frowned hard when he saw that the man was making trouble for no reason.

"It’s nothing," Bai Meiyue answered as she turned to look at her second brother. "We were talking about spreading out and looking for a new place to stay. If we stay here, things will become troublesome." She then told Bai Jixuan about the mutated maggots that she found in the bathing room.

When Bai Jixuan heard that there were indeed mutated maggots in the building, his expression changed, and he told Bai Meiyue about what had happened earlier. "Don’t you think that they are being too much? They didn’t even investigate anything and concluded that the man was lying."

They would do anything in their power to make it look like they had everything under their control, until or unless things went out of control.
