While the victory parade was wrapping up, there were people who were so engrossed in whatever they were doing that they hadn’t even been able to go out for days.
Such was the daily life of the people in the Research Center.
Some of the busiest ones were the toolmakers. After all, with all of Alterra’s continuous ’conquests’, they could really use all the tools that they needed.
The surprising one was the token guard, and there was no lack of requests for it. Frankly, when Kahonn was hired, he was expecting he’d spend most of his time studying those interesting arrays.
At the time, no one thought otherwise. After all, how often could a person get access to a token? Not often, right? Even back in the City, the demand for it wasn’t that high, which was how he was allowed to go around and travel at all.
Who’d have thought that, here, his tool was one of the most popular?
He probably made more boxes in the few months here than in the years he practiced in Hassen City.
The Elders also wanted to equip each team in Alterra with an aether letter, and they also had to supply more to the satellites that went to war every month. Another, they wanted to sell their allies with more aether letters, too. It was just more convenient for everyone this way.
Interestingly, the toolmakers and the array experts (well, at least they’d like to think so) had also gotten a lead of sorts to one of Althea and Garan’s requests: the Aether Letter blocker or interceptor.
Whenever Kalfene lost mana and spirit from making the letters, he’d use the remaining time to study the project. He would also gain a lot of insights from the array team. It was amazing.
Of course, he was also literally dragged to the quarters to rest once a day.
After weeks of this, they were able to create a prototype, albeit it could only work within a 2-meter radius, which was basically useless.
However, it was a start, and hopefully, they could create one with bigger effects. After that, they’d find a way to modify it so signals it did not recognize—that was to say, Alterran’s—would be the only ones blocked!
At the town level, many territories would already have this tool, so this could prove useful to them eventually. Of course, this was still something for the future.
Another interesting development was Menzon’s! 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
He was literally studied, tutored, and grilled with various exercises and experiments that he felt so very, extremely drained! His studies were very targeted, and he felt very pressured.
However, he did not dare to complain at all, nor did he act lazily.
Let’s figure out your inheritance together, they said.
When other people were studying what he received, how could he be so shameless as to not do anything? So, despite the hardship, he gritted his teeth and did everything he had to do.
Rather, because everyone was hardworking, he had to work even harder.
The first step forward was the base material, which was glass. Before, he used the ’crystals’ from Crystal City. However, he found out that there was still so much to modify from the base material itself, and in Alterra, they could really do it!
Other than that was a lot of the inscription. Toolmakers were not array masters, and the arrays were more like unconscious stamps granted to them, and they had to stamp them in the right conditions, on the right surface, and with the right amount of aether. This was where he took most time, and so did the others.
Finally, just today, the first Celeste Mirror was finally unveiled!!
He could only make a 400 millimeter by 400 millimeter mirror for now; however, it was still good!
