Now... to determine which one to attack. Considering he was called here, Iron Mountains would probably be the first to make an attack, so they had to decide rather quickly.
In his opinion, the ideal place to attack should be nearby, so those beyond the level cap could assist them. Since they were attacking, they’d be outside the territory lines for the most part, so they’d still be very useful.
Epo village had announced its surrender, becoming a subsidiary, so it wouldn’t be them. The other villages that attacked Iron Mountains had already fallen—whether it was directly during the war or during its aftermath of weakness.
The remaining villages nearby were of lower levels, so they couldn’t attack them. It also felt bad to attack territories that hadn’t done them harm, either.
Fortunately, they didn’t have to undergo this many dilemmas. Silvia took out a list, apparently sent to them by Alterra. "They did send a list to us in case we had trouble choosing. However, they’d be a bit troublesome because they’re a bit far."
Even if there were arrays, like other territories, they preferred to have elites camped near the territories that they’d attack, so they had back up and protection for their forces.
Even if the people beyond the level caps couldn’t get inside the territories, they could definitely assist their brethren to get inside. Village Sentries generally were weak too, and their projectiles could be caught by hand by their elites.
"The list contains unrepentant villages that once attacked Limestone Valley and Alterra."
This included Tangga and Ugoy Villages, the remaining villages that attacked Alterra during its upgrade. Yassof was their subsidiary, while the other two villages, Resso and Picno Villages, fell not long after the 5-village war.
One succumbed to beast mobs, and the other attacked Yassof, thinking it was weak, not expecting all the slaves Alterra earned to have been returned to them.
There were also the villages that attacked Limestone Valley back then. All these territories had suffered heavy losses from that war. Even if they weren’t the ones who became slaves, they still sent hundreds of people and lost most of those they sent.
"Though they’re far, I suppose the elites can camp out in nearby territories, whether it was Limestone Valley or Belluga Village." 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
They had one major advantage over others: Communication.
Another: the element of surprise. No one would think Iron Valley would attack a useless village so far away from them.
Hubert was sent there to be trained to be the new lead of Iron Mountains, along with one of the soldiers to be sent there. To keep them from being stagnant, though it seemed that they’d be doing rotations every 3 months or so.
Unless, of course, Iron Mountains itself became a Town and the mobs would be strong enough to sustain people of their level. However, this was still a few years away.
Which was fortunate.
