Chapter 1505: Big Group Camp
Everyone had weapons bought in Old Shrao (along with a few spares). Further, a lot of the more powerful ones were also given some bone weapons from Alterra.
The bone weapons were actually the content of many of the carriages before they got filled with ‘slaves’, and they were distributed not long after they left Voumi.
Many of the elites also took this time to see the potential of the people, to see who to focus on recruiting. The former ‘slaves’ also recognized this, and a lot of them definitely showed off, some consciously and some not.
Fos, for one, took note more than the others, and was willing to pay more.
Unlike the other associate villages, Shrao’s had the least elementalists. After all, Terrans would opt to stay in Terran-owned territories. Fos knew this, and he did receive the signal from his Lord to offer 20 to 30% more than what the others were offering.
Heck, he was even preparing an ‘elementalist village’ in their territory, which would be a neighborhood for elementalists. It’d have its own park and decent facilities.
This way, the Terrans who were hesitating to join because they’d be surrounded by aborigines would feel less resistance. At the very least, they would live near fellow Terrans.
The rent would also be very low, if not free, depending on the person’s level and contributions.
Although this might seem unfair on the surface, elementalists had always been revered, so most of his citizens wouldn’t mind the special treatment. After all, having strong fellowmen meant a strong territory, which ultimately meant a better life for everyone.
That said, they were not rich, so Fos was asked to choose wisely. With their current funds, he could not afford more than a hundred.
Gale was one of the more popular people to recruit. He was level-headed even in front of a monster mob, and he was quick on his feet to think of counterattacks.
Fos watched as the young man waved his sword, creating a sharp stab of wind. Unlike other wind swordsmen who preferred slashing movements, Gale—as a former fencing athlete—preferred jabs and stabs.
The skill he inherited was something called wind drill, which created a sharp lance-like attack that could pierce through a human body and give a good amount of damage to monsters of the same level.
Misha, although her ability wasn’t aggressive, proved to be quite a good archer as well. It had to be noted though, that Otto would always place himself near her.
There were also some surprising finds. For example, there was Penelope, who was also an archer.
She seemed to have a weak fire. However, she had exemplary control of it, and the fire she integrated to her arrows was impressive.
This was something Misha mentioned before, and was why she asked Penelope to be the one to scar her, rather than any other fire user.
The dark-skinned girl inherited a skill of integrating fire into an arrowhead. If it landed, it could create a minor explosion at the point of contact.
It wasn’t enough to kill a monster her level, but she could definitely one-shot monsters a level or two lower—assuming she hit the weak spots, of course.
Now, back to the present, their energies were spent, and they had no choice but to rest.
The camp was quite massive, but also well planned. Although they couldn’t occupy a single area due to their sizes, the clusters were planned well so that there were no weak spots. If one area was attacked, the others could also swoop in relatively easily.
