After Surviving the Apocalypse, I Built a City in Another World novel Chapter 1502

Chapter 1502: Another Family Dinner

While thousands of elementalists were on their way, Alterra itself was going on about their daily lives.

Fortunately, the current infrastructure could handle the incoming injection of the elementalists even if they all decided to come with their teams.

In the future, if they reached saturation before they leveled up, then she’d just fence a small segment of the outer walls—the place where the half-orc’s mansion would be—and then develop that area before the rest.

At this time, the family was hanging out while dinner was being prepared (this time by Harold, Eagle, and Beany), they were quite looking forward to the newcomers who were scheduled to arrive soon.

Anyway, as their normal dinner was, the house was quite rowdy with everyone there. Even if each family had their own homes, they would usually eat dinner together, or at least most of them would several times a week.

Tonight, it was actually complete. Everyone was there, and the house was quite lovely. This was especially because, as with typical family gatherings, there were children running around.

"Meabow! Meabow!" Little Pepper yelled as she tried to run after her brother. The little hair buns at the side of her head wobbled as she moved, and the bells tied to her hair rang, signalling where she was.

At this time, Meatball decided that one of the dolls Pepper was playing with was interesting, so he took it to bring with him as a recruit. He was now heading to the garden play place, which had become his temporary castle defending against monster enemies (i.e. the kittens).

He also had a little bell on his belt, making sure the adults could tell where he was.

The bells were made of copper alloys, allowing them to make clear and loud sounds even at the slightest of movements.

Considering what kind of kids these two were, they needed to employ all the methods of alert they could get their hands on.

The two’s legs were really small and chonky, but they moved quite fast. They were all over the place. It made the adults really dizzy, but what could they do? Toddlers were just being toddlers.

Worse, if they tried to hold them back...maybe they’d use their abilities again!

It was horrible.

Ansel once captured little Meatball when he was running around, and the little ball decided to get heavy! He had no choice but to let go, but there was a very real possibility of him straining his arms!

Little Pepper had also once tried to hide from Lola and Yana once when they tried to put her to an unwelcome nap time. There was something about kids and actively avoiding naps for some reason.

They wanted to tell them naps would become super important when they grew older, but for now, they wouldn’t understand that.

Anyway, her disappearance at the time caused quite the chaos. Everyone in the family was mobilized, pretty much turning over all parts of the house to find her.

Guess where they found her? It was in the freaking ceiling!

Not even near it, but above it! In the plenum!! They only realized where she was when they heard someone crawling on the ceiling!

In Terran, that could’ve been the sounds rats made above the ceiling, but this was in Xeno for goodness’ sake! The rats here could eat cows!

They also knew that the kittens and the cats were all accounted for, so it could only be one possibility.

That was just the first of many incidents.

Obviously, the babies were beginning to show their powers again, and this time, they had no idea how to control them anymore!

Garan once asked: Should they throw them to the barracks? That would certainly exhaust them enough.

This made everyone side-eye at him at the time, but now they were seriously considering it!

Anyway, back to the present, the children were at least using their feet as they played and went around, which should be peaceful enough, but they were zooming around everywhere.

Ansel didn’t get any sleep because it was his turn for night duty with the baby last night, and sp he was particularly susceptible to dizziness-by-watching-excess-activity.

Soon, he could not hold back a sigh of exasperation. "Can’t we add little fences somewhere please?" he asked. The babies were so cute when they were not moving so much, but now they also had to worry about them tripping.

"Waaaaa!!!!!" the baby boy cried. "Uwwwwaaaahhhh!"
