After Surviving the Apocalypse, I Built a City in Another World novel Chapter 1371

Chapter 1371: Before Chris’ Wedding (Part 1)

After the meeting with Althea, Chris went back home with a complicated mood, walking home alone with his cane.

Many people had offered to help but he shook his head, refusing all help. Even if he was slow, he wanted to do everything by himself.

In fact, Aditi had also offered to come with him to the meeting with Miss Althea, but he knew she had a job to do and didn’t want to be a burden...

Rather, he did not want to feel like a burden.

It would be a lie to say he wasn’t disappointed about the results of the Limb Regeneration Potion. However, he also understood. Besides, if Eugene could work without his legs, he could definitely do so with one.

He walked in a daze, not knowing how much time had passed. Before he knew it, he was already in his neighborhood.

He did not expect to see Aditi waiting by the door. "Aditi?" He asked, hurrying over, though limping. "You could’ve just waited inside," he said. After all, he had granted her access to the house ages ago.

She shook her head, looking at him. He realized she was curious about how it went. She knew what the meeting was about, after all. "How is it?"

He looked at her and felt nervous, wondering how she’d feel, and wondering if it would change anything.

He shook his head in the end, making her frown and for a moment his heart clenched. However, she raised her head and looked at him, with a determined look on her face.

"Don’t you dare cancel our wedding because of this!"

"..."

Chris blinked as he gaped at her. She looked at him seriously, her pretty mocha-colored skin a bit flushed from both anger and embarrassment. "You’re not... right?"

Chris smiled as he breathed out, the tension he had been holding escaping in relief. It escaped his lips as a chuckle, which made Aditi look at him in offense.

His smile widened and he wrapped his arms around her curvaceous waist, pulling her deep into his embrace.

He buried his head on her shoulders for a few moments before lifting his head so he could lean down to meet her lush lips.

"I wouldn’t miss it for the world."

...

Chris’ wedding was held a few days later. It was a relatively private one with a small audience, with just their closest friends and family invited.

The wedding was held in the backyard of her brothers’ villas, just before dusk. The Garden was arranged meticulously, with all the furniture and wedding decors adding vibrancy to the set-up.

In their tradition, it was the bride’s family who would be responsible for a significant portion of the wedding preparation, including the venue, catering, and attires. However, Chris’ insisted on contributing a lot, so a lot of the expenses ended up being shared regardless.

More and more guests appeared, and they were quickly greeted by the family members, entertained either in the living room or in the garden, with unlimited snacks and drinks.

Surprisingly, two of the people there greeting guests as Family members were no other than Beanie and Theo.

A lot of people didn’t know this but, apparently, Theo’s maternal family was related to Aditi’s!

As an in-law, Beanie even helped a lot with the preparation, linking the family up with some reliable suppliers for the wedding. He also introduced them to the best wedding planner in Town (OK this one was Ansel’s contribution), and got discounts from certain shops whose owners he was friends with.

His presence made sure that the quality of everything was elevated even more, making the maternal family extremely grateful.

Meanwhile, Theo was helping with the reception. The cute 5-year-old was wearing traditional colorful garb with intricate patterns, looking absolutely adorable as he said ’welcome!’ with that milky voice of his.

"Welcome to Ankol Chwis and Awntee Adeetee’s wedding!" he said every time with that milky voice of his. Hilariously, he lost a front tooth, which ended up giving him a lisp in his speech.

Anyway, his greetings easily melted everyone’s hearts.

Combined with the great decor and food, they were already extremely impressed by the small wedding!
