After I Stopped Loving Him novel Chapter 766

Natalie definitely went to see Ethan. Jordan just knew it. She probably tried to get close to him, only for Ethan to turn her down. Then, as always, she must have cried and thrown a fit. In the past, whenever Natalie was upset, Ethan would be beside himself, desperate to make her feel better. Whenever she cried, Ethan looked like he’d do anything for her, even hand her his own heart if he could.

But last night, her tears didn’t seem to work at all. If even her crying couldn’t sway him, then she must have tried something big. She must have tried to sleep with him. No matter how much Ethan loved her, he’d always held himself back, never letting things cross the line. Even now, with Ethan single again, Natalie was still married to Jordan. To everyone else, they looked like the perfect couple.

So, throwing herself at Ethan? He would never accept that, no matter how much she begged or cried. That had to be why her tears failed this time.

Jordan ground his teeth in frustration. He thought back to how Natalie had acted today, so eager and passionate, clinging to him like she never wanted to let go. It was as if she was trying to make up for something, maybe because she was left wanting the night before.

But then again, she had been passionate last night too. Jordan remembered bits and pieces before he fell asleep. He recalled Malvina driving him home, the two of them lingering in the car with their playful flirting. Malvina kept teasing him, winding him up, but she didn’t let anything happen and just walked him to the door.

Once he was inside, Natalie took care of him. Jordan remembered wanting her so badly, craving a night where they could really lose themselves in each other. But halfway through, exhaustion hit him hard and he just fell asleep. After that, everything was a blur.

Maybe that was it. Maybe he’d left her frustrated, and that’s why she went looking for Ethan. Whatever the reason, it didn’t matter. She shouldn’t have gone to Ethan in the first place. Jordan could accept her bringing Ethan some soup or inviting him out for a meal, but the idea of her actually trying to be with him? That was over the line. Natalie was his wife, his woman. Unless he decided to let her go, she would always be his.

Jordan went back to the office and pretended everything was normal. In the late afternoon, Natalie showed up. When Malvina called to say she was here, Jordan’s eyes flashed with annoyance, but his voice was calm and smooth. “Natalie’s here? Let her in. I don’t care who else you turn away, but never stop Natalie.”

Malvina just hung up without a word. A moment later, Natalie walked in, holding two shopping bags.
