After I Stopped Loving Him novel Chapter 666

Ethan grabbed his phone the second he got the news, telling his team to track down which hotel Harold and Isabella were having dinner at. He was determined to get there and chase off the competition.

When Ethan finally arrived, Isabella and Harold had already finished eating. They’d paid the bill and were just stepping out of the restaurant.

“Isabella.”

He got out of his car and hurried over, reaching for her like he could just pull her away from Harold right then and there.

Isabella slapped his hand away, her voice sharp. “Ethan, don’t touch me.”

“Isabella.” Ethan’s tone dropped. “I haven’t eaten yet. I’m starving.”

She just looked at him, completely unmoved. “That’s your problem. If you want to go hungry, be my guest. It has nothing to do with me.”

Then she turned to Harold, her voice instantly softer. “Harold, thanks again for dinner. I still owe you a meal, remember? I’ll make it up to you when I get back from my trip.”

She’d gotten a call from Linda during dinner. Something had come up with one of their investment projects, and Linda needed to go out of town to handle it. Since Isabella was a partner and was learning the ropes from Linda, it made sense for her to go too.

Honestly, Isabella was looking forward to it. By the time she got back, she’d finally have her divorce papers in hand. Plus, she’d get a break from Ethan and his constant neediness.

She was just so tired of him chasing after her. No matter how many times she told him to back off, it never seemed to sink in. Did he really think being persistent would change her mind?

Once you stop loving someone, it doesn’t matter what they do. You just don’t see them the same way anymore.

It reminded her of her last life. Ethan hadn’t loved her then, either. No matter how much she gave, no matter how hard she tried, he never noticed. It was almost ironic. Back then, she was the one who couldn’t let go. Now, it was his turn to be the one who couldn’t move on.

“Go ahead. Linda’s waiting for you. You should catch up with her,” Harold said gently.
