After I Stopped Loving Him novel Chapter 653

Ethan had to admit it. Isabella was just a better person than Natalie. Natalie liked to mess around behind people’s backs, always causing trouble for others. He knew all about it.

He really was letting go of his feelings for Natalie. These days, he hardly ever saw her, and when she reached out for help, he started turning her down. She had Jordan now, and Jordan adored her. Even without Ethan’s support, Natalie would be fine. If he kept hanging around, it would only make things harder for her, stir up drama with Jordan, and mess with their relationship.

Ethan finally realized his obsession with Natalie wasn’t doing anyone any favors. The only problem was, he’d figured it out a little too late. To everyone else, he still looked like the same old Ethan, hopelessly in love with Natalie.

Harold looked at him and said, “You don’t have to worry about me. If I’ve got the guts to love Isabella, I’ve got the guts to face whatever comes with it. I can handle any problem, and I won’t let her feel even a hint of the pain you put her through.”

He’d already told his mom straight out that he liked Isabella and wanted to marry her. His mom respected his choice. It was his life, after all. If he thought Isabella was right for him, his mom wasn’t going to butt in or try to control who he dated.

As for his grandma, Harold didn’t worry. She spoiled him. All he’d have to do was say he wouldn’t marry anyone but Isabella, and she’d be on his side. She was getting older anyway, and even if she wasn’t a fan of Isabella, it wouldn’t really matter.

Harold lived on his own, both before and after marriage. He rarely stayed at his parents’ place. He and Isabella would have their own space, a little distance from his family. That space might even help his parents like Isabella more. Honestly, Isabella was easy to love.

“When did I ever…” Ethan wanted to say he’d never hurt Isabella, but the words caught in his throat. He’d put her through so much.

After a long, heavy pause, Ethan finally said, “It’s my fault. Harold, you’ve got a great reputation. You’ve never been tied up in any rumors, and you have your life together. You could find someone even better than Isabella. Please, I’m begging you, don’t fight me for her. Just let her go. If you promise to step back, we can work together on that Eastside project.”
