After I Stopped Loving Him novel Chapter 624

Natalie told herself that as long as she played the part of Ethan’s “cure,” he’d fall for her completely. If she kept things under wraps, Jordan would never catch on.

“Natalie, you have to help me. I can’t go to jail,” Sophia pleaded.

“Relax, I’ve got you,” Natalie said, her voice sharp with impatience. “Just stop talking and get back to check on Ethan.”

She ended the call.

Sophia lowered her phone.

“Sophia, did the recording work?” her mother asked.

Sophia checked and nodded. “Yeah, Mom. It’s all there.”

“Now do you see Natalie for who she is? She used you against Isabella, and you just let her. You were her pawn.”

Ever since she found out what kind of drug Ethan had taken, Jennifer felt less anxious. Isabella was with him, so she’d step in to help. Actually, Jennifer started thinking, if this led to them sleeping together, maybe they wouldn’t get divorced. Ethan had always been the responsible type.

Once he and Isabella crossed that line, he’d never walk away. He’d finally put Natalie behind him and give Isabella the life she deserved. Maybe by next year, Jennifer would be holding her first grandchild.

Right now, Jennifer couldn’t stand Natalie. She thought Natalie didn’t even compare to Isabella.

She looked at Sophia. “From now on, you’re not to visit the Lane family or see Natalie. That woman is trouble. You can’t handle her games.”

“Spend more time with Barbara. She’s decent, and a much better friend than Natalie.”

Jennifer really liked Harold and hoped Sophia would end up with him. Naturally, she thought highly of his sister too. Barbara really was a good person.

Jennifer was starting to regret spoiling Sophia for so long. She’d let her daughter get away with anything, and now Sophia was reckless and had no idea how to protect herself, easily used by others.
