After I Stopped Loving Him novel Chapter 562

Harold leaned back and said, “Isabella, the way you jumped into the web series business really impressed me. You’re bold, and you’ve got serious vision. Honestly, when Barbara said she wanted to invest with you, I was a little concerned.”

He smiled, remembering. “But Barbara told me she just clicked with you right away. She said you two got along so well, she already saw you as a friend. After she listened to your ideas, she told me that making money would be great, but if she lost it, that was fine too. Business is always a gamble. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, and you just have to roll with it.”

Looking at the way things were going, the web series industry really did seem like a good move.

Isabella thought to herself, What talent? I just remembered from my last life that web series were about to take off, so I got in before everyone else. She had used the advantage of being reborn to get a head start. She wanted a slice of the boom before anyone else noticed it.

Now that she had some money to work with, Isabella was looking for other things to invest in. Every industry has its peak, and then it drops off. Web series would be the same. In a couple of years, the market would be full. Anyone trying to join in after that would be lucky just to break even.

“I took a risk, really. I’d never done anything like this before,” Isabella admitted. “You know, before I married Ethan, I was working in a small company, barely taking home a few thousand a month.”

She paused, then went on. “Ethan really messed with my feelings. He hurt me a lot, and that’s just the truth. But the money I’m investing now? That’s from him.”

She didn’t feel bad about it. Ethan owed her. After everything she’d lost, money was the least he could give her.

Harold nodded. “You were married. It was his responsibility to support you. You don’t have to feel guilty. After what he did, no amount of money could ever really make up for it.”
