After I Stopped Loving Him novel Chapter 533

“She doesn’t care anymore, and now I’m the one regretting everything. Frank, be real with me. Am I just pathetic?”

Frank looked at him and didn’t even hesitate. “Honestly, don’t get mad, but yeah, you kind of are. You did the same thing with Natalie. She hadn’t even said yes to Jordan, but you never told her how you felt. You didn’t even try to compete. Then, when she and Jordan got together, you suddenly acted like you were madly in love with her. That’s pretty pathetic, right?”

“And now you’re doing the exact same thing with Isabella.”

Ethan opened his mouth, but nothing came out. There was nothing he could say.

He was just pathetic.

Frank sighed. “Isabella’s out of the hospital now. You should go home and be with her. Avoiding this won’t fix anything. You have to face it. If you don’t go, she might pack up and leave. Then you’ll be lucky to even see her again. Don’t drown yourself in booze either. Isabella isn’t going to feel sorry for you like she used to.”

Ethan’s face changed. He hadn’t thought about that.

With how desperate Isabella was to get divorced, she really might go straight home after being discharged, pack up, and move out right away.

She didn’t have much stuff there. Two suitcases would be enough for everything she owned.

Ethan grabbed the phone and called Jeremy and Keith, telling them to handle things at the office. He needed some time off for personal reasons.

Once everything at work was settled, Ethan downed his tea and rushed out.

After Frank’s little speech, Ethan didn’t so much as glance at him again. He just left, leaving Frank alone in the huge office.

Frank looked around at the empty space and shook his head. “Watching Ethan mess up like this… I can’t let myself make the same mistake. Living with that kind of regret would be the worst.”

Watching the woman you loved marry someone else had to be the most painful thing in the world.
