After I Stopped Loving Him (Isabella and Ethan) novel Chapter 1014

“Ethan!”

Natalie jolted out of her panic and clung to Ethan’s arm, her voice trembling. “Ethan, please, you have to help me. I can’t go to jail.”

He looked down at her, his face heavy with heartbreak. Carefully, he loosened her grip from his arm, his touch gentle but firm.

“Natalie, I can’t save you,” Ethan said quietly, disappointment and pain in every word. “How could you do this? That’s a crime.”

She stared at him, desperate, but deep down she knew she’d pushed too far, always relying on him and Jordan to bail her out. She’d been so spoiled, she didn’t even hesitate before risking everything, hurting people, ending lives.

And not just once.

Ethan wanted to help her, truly he did, but this... this was something no one could fix. She’d killed Isabella. She’d killed Cynthia. Just the thought of the way Isabella died made it impossible for him to forgive Natalie. He felt nothing but deep sorrow and anger for what she had done.

Natalie’s voice broke, her eyes filling with tears. “It was only a moment. I lost control, I didn’t mean it, Ethan, please... Please, we’ve known each other more than thirty years. You can help me. I don’t want to go to jail. Please.”

She only confessed to Jordan because she knew there was no hiding anymore. She assumed that after everything, after all the love they’d shared, Jordan would keep protecting her. He’d help her cover up the truth, make sure the Adams family would never trace the crimes back to her.

Even last night, Jordan promised he’d take care of it. He held her, kissed her... She really thought it was all going to work out.

But today, Jordan called the police. He brought them straight to her. He stood right there as they arrested her.

“You wanted Isabella dead. Natalie, every time you and Isabella fought, I always stood by you. Wasn’t that enough?”

“I even divorced her. She left me, lost everything she had. Wasn’t that enough for you?”

“Why did you have to go so far?”

Natalie’s cries grew frantic as she saw that Ethan wouldn’t budge. “I hated her. That’s why. I hated her because you fell for her! You belong to me. You told me you’d always love me, even if I never married you. You promised you’d always be there for me!”

“I saw the way you looked at her. You say you’re on my side, but you kept saving her, bailing her out. Even when I lost our baby because of her and Jordan wanted revenge, you stepped in and protected her. You said you’d handle her, but all you ever did was help her.”
