A Widow's Poison A Wife's Rebellion novel Chapter 677

Despair is a road with no end in sight. After realizing the depths of Starla's vengeance, Darleen felt she was trapped in an infinite loop of misery. She had no idea how long the retaliation would last, nor how many more family members would be dragged into the abyss.

But she simply couldn't hold back anymore. If she could end it all by sacrificing herself, she would have done it in a heartbeat to save her children.

Faced with Darleen's vicious curse, Starla merely let out a dismissive sneer. "Whatever my fate is, you won't be around to see it. You'll never get the satisfaction."

She stepped closer, her tone dripping with malice. "Unlike me. I get a front-row seat to watch exactly how you fall apart. Too bad you won't have the chance to witness my downfall."

Darleen was left speechless. She was right—she would never live to see it. And that was the most agonizing part. She had never been one to swallow her pride. She was vindictive by nature, yet here she was, utterly crushed under Starla's heel, powerless to fight back.

Defeated, Darleen stumbled out of the room.

Xenia rushed up to her immediately. "What did she say?"

Darleen looked at her daughter, her eyes clouded with a painful, suppressed agony. Meeting that gaze made Xenia's heart stutter.

"Mom?"

"It probably won't end," Darleen whispered, her voice hollow.

"What?"

"This... it might never end for as long as we live," Darleen confessed, the absolute despair finally breaking her. She had tried to seek an end, but the mocking sneer on Starla's face when she suggested it confirmed that there was no way out.
