A Vengeful Bride novel Chapter 11

Edward Xi's eyes suddenly changed. "Okay, three million. I'll give it to you." Then he took out a cheque, wrote a string of numbers, and handed it to David Li.

David took the check and smiled.

At this moment...

Unexpectedly, David reacted quickly. The two security guards crashed into each other, but he avoided them.

"Let him go, don't stop him." Edward said quickly.

I noticed the rare anxiety in his voice.

But David didn't agree. He grabbed my hair and pulled me back.

"D*mn it! David, how dare you!" Edward bellowed.

"This woman is very important to you, isn't she?" David grinned and put the knife on my neck again. He said to Edward.

"What do you mean?" Edward's brows frowned.

"You, such a cold-blooded beast, have never been moved by anyone. But you're willing to take out three million to save her." David seemed to look through Edward.

"Don't challenge my bottom line. Just let her go since you got the money. Otherwise, I will make your life a living hell." Edward said coldly.

David's words made me half in doubt. "Am I really valuable in Edward's heart?"

Or did David deliberately cheat him in order to get more money?

"I'm just here to talk about the contract. I have nothing to do with G.M. Xi," I said in a hurry.

I had never appeared in the Xi's Group, and I had never shown that I was the wife of Edward in public. So I had reasons to believe that David couldn't know that I was the wife of Edward.

"Do you think I'm stupid?" David held me tightly and shouted at Edward, "Three million is definitely not enough. I want 30 million, and you need to arrange for me to go abroad immediately. I know you can do it. Otherwise, I will die with her and make you regret it for the rest of your life!"

Edward suddenly laughed. "Do you think I will let you challenge my bottom line again and again? It's just a woman. Do you think I will lack of women? If you want to kill her, do it. I don't have time to waste on you."

David was stunned.

My tears shed instantly. I knew what Edward said was true. This was his real thought.

At this moment, I really wanted to die under David's knife. I wanted to see if Edward would regret it in the future!

I grabbed David's arm and bit it.

He was in pain and cursed, immediately stabbed me with a knife.

But I was already disheartened, biting him and not letting go. "B*stard!" Edward pounced on David and waved his fist at him.

After that, I was a little confused. When I came to my senses, David had been caught. And Edward sat on a chair, his face was pale and his snow-white shirt was covered with blood.

Edward, are you okay?1' I nervously rushed to him and asked loudly.

"What about you? Are you hurt?" Edward asked instead of answering me.

"No..." I didn't have time to check myself. I only saw the blood on his body and felt dizzy.

No matter how many hurtful words he just said, in the end, he blocked the knife for me and saved me.

I saw Edward whose wound had been bandaged and was about to step forward.

However, Betty pushed me aside and said with a smile, "Since Edward is fine, you can go back first, Mrs. Xi. I will take care of him here."

"That'll be too troublesome for you, Miss Fang. Now I'm still Edward's wife." I emphasized the tone of the word "wife".

At this moment, I suddenly had a strong idea that I didn't want to divorce Edward.

Even if we divorced, the position of Mrs. Xi could not be taken by Betty.

I couldn't watch my beloved man who had always been seen as a God by me being played by such a sly fox.

However, Betty seemed that she did not understand. She said again, "I know Edward. He would like to be accompanied by me."

Her words were full of provocation. I looked at Edward, who was resting with his eyes closed, as if he didn't hear my quarrel with Betty.

I didn't want to make things difficult for him, which will only make his body worse. Finally, I took a few steps back and turned around to leave.

I left the hospital lonely. The blood on my body had not been washed away because I didn't have time. It was scary. The passers-by looked at me one after another, and I ignored it. I walked out of the hospital gate. Just as I was about to take a taxi across from the road, Richard Xi got out of the car.

"Cousin-in-law, I heard about what happened in the company. Are you okay?" He asked me anxiously.

"I'm fine." I shook my head feebly.

But my heart was full of guilt. If I hadn't broken down and made the situation out of control, maybe Edward wouldn't have been injured.

"That's good. Get in the car. I'll take you home. You also need to rest." When Richard smiled, it was very warm.
