The words made Robin cool down a bit. In his memory, the members of the Siren Organization were all dealing and operating in the shadows, never showing their true faces.
But they always wore masks when they acted. Even if they took off their masks and interacted with people normally, because nobody had ever seen their real faces, who could recognize them once they took off their masks?
So, Evan's words didn't do much to alleviate Robin's suspicions.
"No matter how you explain it, I'm suspecting you and Bernard to be members of the Siren Organization!"
"What do you mean by 'members of the Siren Organization'?"
A voice as cold as ice sounded behind them.
They both turned around in surprise, only to see Bernard striding over.
"What did you just say?" It was Robin who asked.
"I said Evan is a member of the Siren Organization, and since he came to see you, that means you must be a member too, right?!"
Bernard smirked, a cold laugh escaping his lips.
"If I were a member of the Siren Organization, the Laurence family would have already made use of their power to break into the North Funland market. Why are we still stuck where we are?"
That's right. If Bernard was indeed a member of the Siren Organization, the Laurence family would definitely be more prosperous than they are now. But in recent years, they've been slowly breaking into the market through technological development, without taking advantage of other forces...
Robin's brows furrowed as he pondered over this. Did he get it wrong? Did he start suspecting Bernard of being a member of the Siren Organization the moment he saw Evan...?
As Robin hesitated, Bernard's cold voice echoed in his ears once again.
"Are you sure Evan is part of the Siren Organization?"
"Yes!"
Just as Robin finished speaking, Bernard pointed at Evan.
"Grab him. Send him to the police!"
Robin was stunned. He didn't expect Bernard to react this way.
Evan interjected at the right moment. "Mr. Laurence, he must be a member of the Siren Organization. He's accusing me as a cover-up to hide his real identity. This way, no one else would suspect him!"
Robin was furious, "What nonsense are you talking about? You're clearly the one from the Siren Organization!"
Evan retorted, "Just because you say I am, I am? Well, if I say you are, why won't you admit it?!"
Robin was about to explode, "I'm so pissed off! I've never been falsely accused like this in my life! I'll teach you a lesson!"
He clenched his fists and swung at Evan, but Evan easily dodged his punch, "If you don't have the strength, don't throw punches!"
Robin was so angry that his face turned red, but without any evidence, he could only take the beating, "Just wait. When I find evidence, let's see how you defend yourself!"
Evan sneered, "Mr. Laurence, you see, he's pretending to be angry and accusing me again when he heard that you're investigating the Siren Organization. Isn't he just trying to divert attention? I suggest you arrest him as soon as possible before he escapes!"
Who knew the Siren Organization could be so good at muddying the waters? Robin was about to explode. "Bernard, take me and him to the police station. Let the police investigate who is the actual member of the Siren Organization!!!"
Upon hearing this, Bernard knew he was off the hook. He raised his slender finger, "Take both of them to the police station!"
