When Eleanor struggled to break free from Bernard's arms, she took a step back, leaning against the elevator wall, looking at him, and asked, "Where are you planning to take me?"
Seeing her wariness, Bernard's eyes gradually dimmed, "I'm taking you to my villa."
Upon hearing this, Eleanor felt somewhat helpless, "Didn't you understand what I said to you at the hospital?"
She had clearly expressed that she didn't want to see him anymore, yet he wanted to take her to his villa.
Bernard stared at her for a few seconds, then said flatly, "I got it, but where can you go under your current circumstances?"
Eleanor was speechless and extremely embarrassed, "My friends and I will figure something out."
Bernard replied, "He have his own problems, what solution can he come up with?"
Although Eleanor wanted to maintain some dignity in front of him, she found he wasn't wrong, but...
"I..."
Before Eleanor could finish, Bernard interrupted her, "Eleanor, hotels aren't safe, take my advice and stay at my villa."
In a foreign country, he couldn't always ensure her safety but only when she was within his sight, could he feel at ease.
Hearing his words, Eleanor hesitated for a while, then clenched her hands, and looked up at Bernard, "I know you're thinking about my safety, but have you considered how Teresa would feel?"
Bernard looked at her, his brows slightly furrowed, "What does this have to do with her?"
Eleanor clenched her hands, "Yesterday, I saw her holding you..."
She didn't finish her sentence, but Bernard understood what she meant.
He took a step forward,
Raised his slender fingers to the elevator door above her head, looking down at her.
After explaining, Bernard bent down slightly, moving closer to her again.
"Also, I intentionally held Sophie Ratliff's hand in front of you and took her to the hospital, it was all to test you."
"I swear to you, in my life, I have only loved you and have never loved any other woman..."
Eleanor listened to his belated explanation, almost stunned.
The old Bernard would never give her such a detailed explanation; often he didn't even want to talk to her much.
But now, not only did he explain the misunderstandings of the past and present, he even made a vow to her, which she found hard to believe...
Bernard's handsome face got even closer to her, and when his high nose touched hers, Eleanor got nervous.
She wanted to push Bernard away, but he stared into her eyes, asking softly, "Did you reject me at the hospital because of Teresa?"
